Attorney General Jeff Sessions is paving the way for a possible special counsel to investigate Uranium One and Hillary Clinton.
In a letter Monday, the attorney general directed senior federal prosecutors to look into the sale of Uranium One, unlawful dealings of the Clinton Foundation, and James Comey’s handling of the Clinton email probe and dossier.
The announcement comes after Representatives Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz delivered an ultimatum to the attorney general, telling him to launch an investigation or resign so they can appoint someone who will.
I’m not really sure how this works, but if the Attorney General were to resign, would his successor be appointed by Representatives Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz?

No. If Sessions resigned, the Rosenstein would take over. Which would be going from bad to worse.
Trump then would appoint a new A/G. Which has to be confirmed by the Senate. Who may or may not approve the Trump nominee.
In any event - that process would not start until next year.
So. We are stuck with Sessions. For better or worse.

And he might, possibly just might do all that before lunch.
So does that suggest that none of the hundreds of new sealed indictments around the country relate to either uranium 1 or the Clinton Foundation?

My prediction: After thoroughly examining the case, Sessions will concluding that no reasonable prosecutor would take it.

What if Sessions, ticked off at being threatened, appoints a Special Prosecutor to the left of Mueller, like David Boies? Or a NeverTrumper?, like Robert Kelner, General Flynn’s lawyer? Then where are we?

Two representatives threaten to appoint an attorney general? WTF. Ever hear of the Constitution? Glad Sessions is doing the right thing, regardless of two Congressmen’s alleged presumptuousness.
I’m pretty sure CCG was being sarcastic...and good sarcasm, too! We all know darn well Congresscritters don’t get to appoint the AG.
This reminds me of the ads I’ve seen lately for ADT home protection services. The ad says over and over that it’s important to FEEL safe in your home and that ADT lets you FEEL safe. Not a peep about actually BEING safe or increasing your safety.
So a lot of words with no follow through. I don’t need that.
APPOINT A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR.

All for show. If a special prosecutor is ever put in place...That will be rigged too. These things need to be tried in a normal court of law. All procedures during the legal process need to be public.
