Livestock to blame for 19% of global warming - study
Radio New Zealand ^ | November 12, 2017

Research from the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre shows methane and nitrous oxide emissions from livestock contributed to 19 percent of the world's global warming in 2010.

An additional 4 percent was due to emissions created when land was converted to pasture.

The study's author, Andy Reisinger, said the figures showed the critical role methane played in global warming.

"This estimate does not consider indirect emissions from energy use or growing livestock feed, such as soy beans, so this can be taken as a lower bound of the actual contribution of livestock to global warming.

Dr Reisinger said livestock emissions were likely to increase as global demand for livestock products increased.

He said that even though methane behaved differently to carbon dioxide - it does not last in the atmosphere for as long - reducing methane emissions would makes a significant contribution to reducing climate change impacts.

"If countries are serious about meeting the goals of the Paris agreement on climate change - which is to limit global warming to well below 2°C and ideally even 1.5° - then livestock emissions still make up about 20 percent of that warming in the year 2100, even if we make a lot of effort to reduce those emissions."

There used to be 100 million buffalo roaming the US — maybe double that number.

But the climate wasn’t affected.

There is no end to the foolishness associated with the man made global warming hoax.

Is the percentage of methane from termites more or less than the percentage of methane from cattle?

19%? Not 20%, not 18%, but 19%. Yeah right.

One report last year stated that cows burp methane out their mouths...not out their backsides. Report said scientists have been studying the wrong end of the cow.

Just two observations...how much of these “studies” are motivated by the Left’s anti-human, anti-meat, anti-civilization mindset. And, if you focus in on the surface of a polished mirror with sufficient magnification, it comes to resemble the surface of the moon. By which I mean, they focus in on one aspect of the environment and leave out all the automatic compensation mechanisms used by nature to keep things like they are.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

We have had a pretty cold November, so far. If it’s only 19%, I guess we need more livestock.

ALL of them. Climate Change (cooling, warming, both, neither, rain drought, snow, etc) have been part of the Population Reduction agenda for as long as I’ve been alive (I’m in my mid 50’s now).

At the heart of their hypotheses is always the same thing: too many people doing too much stuff.

But their multi-culti Leftism prevents them from pulling the low-hanging fruit down, which is “stop sending food and materials to the Third World. So, they always go after the developed world with appeals for us to live more like the Third World.

THEN, they plan to pull that low-hanging fruit down!

The Left are a bunch of genocidal Nazis.

The researchers also know that failure to support the conclusion of man-caused global warming can be the end of their reputation and career.

Myth - that methane contributes in any way, shape, form, or manner to “global warming”.

Methane exists in the atmosphere not only in much lower (parts per BILLION) concentrations than carbon dioxide, its capability to retain and transfer heat energy to the surrounding environment is much less.

The atomic weight of methane is less than that of the major components of air, either oxygen or nitrogen, and it RISES to the highest level, much like water vapor. Only, unlike water vapor, methane does not condense or form solid crystals under earth atmospheric conditions, so like hydrogen or ammonia, it simply wafts off into space, if not consumed in the highly reactive and oxidizing atmosphere of earth.

Not that the world shall lose any significant amount of methane through this venting-off, but that there is so little of it that may be even subject to such a venting-off.

Most of the methane in this world exists in a form known as Methane Hydrate, a substance of somewhat greater density than sea water, and it lies on the floor of the ocean, where the ambient temperature does not rise above about 38 degrees Fahrenheit or about 4 degrees Centigrade.

Using an odd number makes a fake report sound more “real”. Even better is to add a fraction. This fake report would be better if they said 19.7%. One does not want to go overboard, however, and get carried away by too many decimals. Claiming 19.721% might raise eyebrows. Like seasoning, fake stats should be added enough to “season”, but not overwhelm.
