The United States has been strong in its anti-Iran, anti-Hezbollah position but it apparently has decided that opposition to Iran should not rise to the level of a war in Lebanon.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is calling for the Lebanese Prime Minister who resigned in Saudi Arabia last weekend to return home. He wants a backdown to ease tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

warned other countries against using Lebanon for proxy conflicts....About 40 years too late for the US to worry about that. 29 of which they were occupied by Syria, most of the rest dominated to various degrees by Hezbollah.

I was thinking the same thing...maybe old Rex would like to accompany PM Hariri back to Lebanon until things can be sorted out.
