The other adorable thing that OweMalley did was to flood Hagerstown and its rural surroundings with muslims.
This from a governor who supposedly wants more jobs. Hogan is proving to be an environ-MENTAL-ist, just like Owe'Malley, with the exception that he favors highway projects more.
I agree. How many thousands of dollars in extra plumbing materials and labor does that make? And then there are repair bills for the sprinkler system (corroded pipes, faulty sprinklers, etc.).
On top of all that, from what I understand, you have to pay to have them inspected periodically.
But Sideling Hill cut is a damn sight better than in the old days, when you have to take old 40 on an uphill grade a few miles, then hit a 100 degree switchback by and old ranger fire tower to come down the other side. I'd done it many times in blowing snow, and it was a fifteen minute white-knuckler. Despite all the flashing yellow warning lights and arrow signs, many a driver would miss the turn and go over the side. It's an interesting drive and shaves a little time off your trip now, but it'll still make you pucker, especially if you're getting crosswinds and/or the cut is ducting them. You know you're getting a little altitude going up the grade, and you can get a tummy flutter if you're not prepared for the downgrade side, especially during the winter. You don't see it coming. You feel like you could fall off the roof in the western lanes, because there's nothing but a valley to the right. I get to hop on that carnival ride again December 22, when we make our annual Christmas trip home to Cumberland. When the road gets to looking like this, you tell your wife to sit in the back seat, because God is your co-pilot.
Liberalism isn't just a mental disease; it's a cancer that metastasizes and spreads to infect healthy tissue and consume it, too.
You are dead on.
Cumberland is Bawlmer West, now.
Wouldn’t walk downtown in the daylight, for love or money.
We still do business with Class Glass but they’re in a pretty safe spot.
Dope rules, here.
The I81/I70 interchange is the Heroin Highway and I have to worry about a state cop friend and his drug dog dying from exposure to fentanyl, every day.
*Every* area with subsidized housing is a war zone.
There is a herd of miscreants living in a tent city beside the train tracks right near the mall.
Between them stealing, begging and terrorizing, you gotta be aware of everything around you, all the time.
The local Sheetz have been taken over by dealers lurking in the parking lots and they all have armed guards.
The only exception to that is the one where all of us bikers hang out during the summer.
[Huyetts Crossroads]
Nothing happens there because we police the place, ourselves.
You cannot imagine what a hellhole Hagerstown and its ‘burbs have become.
The *only* time I will walk around downtown is when they have Bike Night in July.
*Why* they don’t give the cons a one-way bus ticket outta town when they’re released is beyond me.
If you look at that map I posted, 5 miles west of HTown, the crimes stops.
To paraphrase Negan, we will shut that sh*t down, no exceptions.
I *love* the old 40 trip and make it several times on the bike, during the summer.
The hill up to the death curve is the one that had freaking *trees* growing out of the center line.
They kinda half-ass ‘fixed’ it so you don’t disappear into the potholes, now.
Remember the 90 degree curve entering Cumberland, with all the crosses painted on the granite wall, one for every soul who didn’t make the turn?
I love me some scary roads on the bike but The Cut is something I avoid, whenever possible.
“Falling off the side” is exactly what I feel, going down.
:)
Dumb luck brought this to me.
Enjoy the irony.
:)
Woohoo!
Htown sets a new record!
Yep, it’s creeping out 70, westward. But hell, eight deaths is a slow weekend in Ballmer or D.C............
