Happened to someone in the small town I live in also. He, an older gentleman, fell asleep on the tracks in a drunken stupor and the train severed both legs.
A girl I went to college with tried to hop a train that went right through town. She was intoxicated. Lost her grip, fell under the tracks and lost both her her feet.
Friend of mine grew up in a train town told me “everyone who grew up here knows someone who got killed on the tracks”.
