The allegations against Roy Moore are disgusting — and if you find yourself reluctant to say so because of your politics, then you’re pretty gross, too.
The Leigh Corfman story, reported by the Washington Post, is about so much more than just some older guy having a relationship with some younger girl. That, of course, would be bad enough — many girls haven’t even had their f***ing periods at age 14 — but this is also about a man who abuses his power to prey on the powerless. It’s about a respected district attorney finding a girl in a vulnerable position (waiting with her mother outside of a child-support hearing) and relishing in the opportunity to take advantage of it. It’s a sick story that is all too common, and one that will continue to be common if we refuse to speak out against it.
I believe that Roy Moore was a predator with a penchant for teenage girls. No, not because I’m some p***y-hat-wearing snowflake (as eloquent as that argument is) but because of logic. As my colleague David French notes, there are a lot of reasons to believe these allegations: There are multiple accusers. These women didn’t come to the press seeking attention, they simply answered the questions when the press came to them. They have witnesses corroborating their stories. Finally, the woman with the most serious allegations, Leigh Corfman, voted for Donald Trump in 2016 — making the political-hit-job storyline laughable at best.
If you think there’s no way you know anyone personally who has been through something like this; you’re wrong again, and it’s time for people on all political sides to recognize reality: These men are everywhere, so are their victims, and those victims aren’t talking points for your partisan-hack gotcha tweets. They’re people.

Why wait until now? She could have come out against Moore during the primaries and that would have helped the candidate the president backed. Why wait until it comes down to a D vs. R race?

Also: Only one accuser was below the age of consent, and the age of consent is for INTERCOURSE.
Do I believe the 14 year old? No.
As was said in high schools around the country in the 70s, “15 will get you 20!” IOW, going too far with someone below 16 gets you a long prison term. Of course, when I was in high school, during the 70s, there were gals who were 14 going on 20, and who had fake ID cards to match.
What she described is also out of synch with what the older girls described.
And FWIW, I went TDY with a lot of guys in their 30s who had no hesitation about trying to “score” with an 18 year old. Married guys in their 30s. I didn’t approve, but I was usually along as the designated driver. And no one wanted to know what this Baptist thought of their activities.
This horse pucky about guys in their 30s being too mature to look at a 17 year old is...horse pucky! Heck, if I wasn’t married, I would not have ruled out spending some time with a good-looking 18 year old.
Knowingly do ANYTHING with a 14 year old? Not a chance in hell! But the idea that a guy in his 30s could be interested in a woman below 25...
Well, John McCain, in 1980 you were 44. Cindy McCain was 26 in the year you married. Let’s see. That is 18 years difference. So when Cindy was 14, John would have been...32. Perhaps more to the point, when John McCain was 36, she would have been...18.
Everyone who believes a 40 year old John McCain was too morally pure to look at an 18 year old, get in line to buy a bridge!
I don’t know much about Moore, other than the people who HATE him also hate me.
And that 1979 was a long time ago, and there IS no “corroborating evidence”. Not when it is all “he said, she said” - and NONE of the “shes” said squat during the next 38 years! 38 years while the supposed predator was extremely visible in Alabama politics.

I’m sure that many Never Trumpers voted for him as well. Anyway, didn’t Trump support Strange? Isn’t it plausible that his supporters would follow his lead thinking that a hit job on Moore would be what Trump would want?
Point being that for every explanation Ms. Timpf provides, I can provide ten more that negate her points. Again, I say that she is using an immunity toward those who allege sexual assault as a shield against anyone daring to challenge the accusations here. She seeks to shut down the debate not engage in it.

Post 1: She is a liar. Some of my family was Pastor to her and she is lying 100%. We know her personally... Terrible woman! She lied on several ministers that we know.
Post 2: .... yes, it is very much so a pattern for her! she has went to various churches within our denomination and accused at least three other pastors besides an uncle of ours, making sexual advances at her. Each time that she brought it to the District board for Alabama they found her to be uncredible and she changed her story many times. Additionally, she tried to sue a pastor in one of the sections within our denomination and the Circuit Judge would not hear the case. This was around 2007 this particular incident took place.
Post 3: Our section Presbyter has been notified and has notified the proper authorities! She is 100% uncredible. This is just an attack on a good Christian man, no doubt she was promised some type of monetary benefit for her lies by someone... I know 100% that she is money hungry and I wish I could go into details of the other situations involving the pastor that she accused. I will say this though I can truthfully say that 3 times out of the four times she accused pastors that we know, she attempted to “ Make a Deal” to not go public with the accusation if she would be compensated an x amount of dollars. That is one reason why the Circuit Judge in the Civil Court dismissed her case with prejudice.
It will be pretty easy to search the Alabama Court records to see if that civil suit was filed by the accuser against a pastor around 2007 and it’s disposition. It’s game over for the ComPost when that becomes public.
Yes, this is the 3rd time I’ve posted this.
I can’t believe anyone is still talking about these lies.

anyone who believes these charges which are so obviously a set up, without having the man a chance to defend himself - I find those who jump on the band wagon detestable. They are low life.
