Europeans have a greater sense of culture, language, and borders than Americans. Why do you think there are so many countries in Europe despite hundreds of years of wars and conquest? Underneath the thin veneer of the EU, Europeans have a strong sense of national identity and survival. The rise of nationalism in Europe today reflects the growing opposition to globalism and the loss of sovereignty. Europe is breaking up into smaller and smaller nation states and has been for years.
And like many minorities they dwell on the government plantation. Take away or change substantially the government programs and our crime problem almost disappears.

Merry saw how the thing was done one steamy hot day at Palembang, and he saw quite stark and plain. He had a first balcony seat to the performance, as you might say, for he was leaning from a raised and shaded veranda on the river street when it happened just below him. Also, by some chance or other, he was almost completely sober at the time. And this is the thing the sobered Merry saw:
From a doorway just across sprang suddenly out and down to the muddy level a little stout-shouldered half-naked Malay with a face mottled and bluish, with foam on his lip a creese in his hand. Forthright he drove into the crowd like a reaper into standing grain. His blade rose and fell in a crimson flicker, and he strode over the bodies of two victims before the people were aware of him and fled streaming through alleys and bolt holes. Then the terrible hoarse cry of the man hunt began to muster, and furious swart figures to start back out of the mass and to line the course with bright points of steel. The murderer neither paused nor turned aside, but held straight on, hewing steadily and silently, until the weapons bristled thick about him and he went down at last like a malignant slug under a tumble of stinging wasps.
Merry resumed breathing with a conscious effort and loosed his clutch of the balcony rail....
“What—was that?” he wanted to know.
A stolid and rather shabby client of the Dutch marine persuasion drew stolidly on a cheroot and[Pg 309] craned over to count the huddled bundles that marked the madman’s path.
“Oh, it iss nothing,” observed this judicious person, who might have been mate, or such, of a country ship. “He got four only. Sometimes they kill eight—twelve—even more, till they get themselves killed. That fellow was just a common fellow.”
“But why—what was he after?”
“Oh, it iss just going amok, you know. That iss a habit wit’ the Malay folk. I have seen them often.”
Still Mr. Merry desired light.
“How can I say?” returned the other. “A native iss always a native, except when he iss only a man an’ a dam’ fool. Perhaps his woman has gone bad on him or he has played his last copper doit at gambling. Maybe he has crazied himself wit’ opium or bhang. Maybe he iss just come to a finish, you know?”
“A finish?” stammered Merry.
“Where he has no more use: where he gets sorry wit’ the world an’ wants to die quick. So he takes his knife an’ runs amok to stab so many people as he can, an’ he don’t care a dam’ if only he makes a big smash. It is like a sport, truly.”
“Yes,” said Merry. “Very like a sport.”

What's interesting is that conflict left a still indelible mark on the country. Staying in the tourist core, with the museums, restaurants and general avant-garde 'Hemingway' environment, the artsy progressive atmosphere masks the reality. (During the war, this was the liberal stronghold while the Francoist army was camped outside the city.)
One day we took a stroll across the large city park (where the Prado is located) to the Franco side of town. Here is where the wealthy actually live and work, with nary a tourist to be seen. We went to lunch, to a place filled with conservative, polished Spaniards.
When the Catalonia situation began heating up this summer, I remarked to my wife that the controlling power of Spain will just watch and observe. Like parents letting their children run free, but with a careful watchful eye. Sure enough, when the time came, Madrid acted like I expected, all notions of self-determination swept aside as they issued constitutional decrees.
It's been 80 years, but the fault lines behind the civil war are still there, visible to anyone who cares to look. There may be an impulse towards regional identity, but when the EU signaled they wouldn't recognize an independent Catalonia, it was all over except for the crying.
They are classified as whites if they are perpetrators, but are "Hispanic" if they are victims. That way, one Hispanic victimizing another becomes "white on Hispanic" crime.
If one removes blacks and latinos from the statistics, America has no problems. No obesity problem, no infant mortality problem, no adult mortality problem, no average income problem, not homicide problem, no rape problem.
EU will soon see what having a large underclass of africans does to their wonderful statistics.

This country has been a deliberate experiment in terms of regional needs and allowing the development of respective sub-cultures.
This is been a successful experiment. We have, for various reasons, influenced the evolution of each sub-culture and we can see the results. We could look at specifics, such as aggregation of people having the same color or ethnicity, or we can look at the differences from a more abstract point of view.
In the abstract, I’ll argue the issue is very simple - Judeo-Christian ethics and the level that they’re woven into the fabric of the sub-culture. The level of crime in sub-cultures that reject this ethics system, either implicitly or explicitly, is directly proportional.
The left believes one can be a “good person” without God. I believe this makes a fundamental assumption about what “good” is. A given culture defines “good” based on the ethics system that saturates it. In this country we have a legacy ethics system that binds us together and what we can agree on as “good”. As time moves forward however, each sub-culture diverges from what is “good” and we’re now seeing this in many segments of the country. As the left has abandoned God and insists on constructing their alternate reality of truth, their definition of “good” is now very different than those that are religious. On top of this, the concept of “good” is also wildly different among various religions due to the differences in respective ethics-systems.
It is no surprise that an ethics system of life, forgiveness, love thy enemy, etc. produces a society that reflects this. To the opposite; hip-hop death culture, Islamic ethics, left wing godless arrogant narcissism, etc., that outright reject Judeo-Christian ethics all lead to death, poverty, misery, and hate.
It’s all exposed now for all to see. We need to bring the discussion to the level of ethics systems and argue the ‘compare and contrast’ between them. Ask an atheist what is their ethics system...what grounds their beliefs? As they have none, this is why we see them, not just move more left, but accelerate and lurch far left very quickly. They have no ethics basis, the strongest voice moves everyone immediately - there is no Bible to reconcile against. For Muslims, they’re in the worst position. They have a book to reconcile against new ideas, the problem being that the book they reference has everything backwards.
This has all been enabled by technology. The ability to move and communicate very quickly. We’re able to see the evolution of society in real-time, moving at a pace unheard of in history. Without the Internet there’d be no global Islamic terrorism. Without aircraft we’d all be moving around much more slowly. That everything is so fluid now enables us to zero in on what it is that makes us different from each other. What we need to do now is have a formal analysis of each ethics basis and expose evil, which is to get otherwise good people to do bad things in the name of “good”.
I lived a total of 13 years in five countries in Europe. One of the take-a-ways is that the Europeans know their own history better than Americans know theirs. And in places like Greece and the Balkans, what happened six hundred years ago is current history.
The European elites want a united Europe without borders. Anyone who opposes it is labeled far right and a Neo-Nazi. It used to work, but Merkel's migrant disaster has galvanized nationalist movements in most of Europe. The battle is joined and will only get worse as the impact of the foreign migration from the developing world manifests itself more and more. The EU's days are numbered.
