Write-In Republican Candidates Could Challenge Roy Moore
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/09/2017 | Kerry Picket

WASHINGTON — Although Alabama law prohibits a nominee from withdrawing his or her name from an election ballot 76 days before voters go to the polls, write-in candidates have no deadlines.

A woman told the Washington Post in an article published Thursday that Republican U.S. Senate nominee Roy Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 years old and he was 32. Senate Republicans have called for Moore to leave the race if the claims are true. Moore and his campaign vociferously denied the accusations, calling the charges “fake news.”

Nope, not buying anyones late last minute claims that don’t give time to check out the facts. Not buying, going with Moore to the finish line.

Write in?

This is just too stupid.

In less than 4 ms, the GOPe went from baseless accusations to calls to drop out to presenting an alternative.

This has to be defeated!

The Murkowski strategy, outright undermine the properly elected candidate in the race so the party bosses can input one of their own.

It physically makes me sick that these people claim to be on "our side".

I agree. It smells of gross orchestration when Ryan tried to derail the Trump campaign. It is like they are stuck on stupid with Obama in their heads

Here is a simple reality check. No one can know the truth of an allegation within hours of its publication. Republicans immediately rushing out to denounce someone because of a newspaper article are being absurd. The allegation is 38 years old and has been denied. It seems to me Roy Moore has two simple options. If he’s innocent, fight like hell and win. If he’s guilty and only if he’s guilty, then step aside and let the party sort it out.

The rush to harm this man when no one knows the facts is disgraceful. John McCain is evil. I had no idea he represents Alabama or chairs the GOP. It’s past time for someone to denounce this malevolent person who is enjoying harming our republic.

How despicable that McCain who was responsible for the false Russia dossier seems also to be behind promoting this latest character assassination.

Let’s just elect Moore. If he needs to resign later, just hold another election. There’s not enough time to adjudicate this, so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Let’s also not forget Robert Menendez is on trial and was banging underage prostitutes paid for by his benefactor - a story that the Compost is letting Die in Darkness.

The malignant parts of the GOP must be removed. MAGA can’t happen until that does.

All correct. And I’d bet my house if Luther Strange was being accused of this McConnell would be pouring millions into Alabama to support him.

This is the garbage they pulled in Virginia with Oliver North. Sen. John Warner was behind it, the same John Warner whom Nixon described on tape as “any a******* can be Secretary of the Navy. Hell, we had John Warner do it”. Run a third candidate to siphon off support from the non-establishment Republican which he did and North lost narrowly. Warner went on to actually make a commercial for Mark Warner the Dem who only narrowly beat Ed Gillespie for VA Senate in 2014.

I don’t think the party bosses orchestrated this or they would have done this when they could still get Strange.

This is just the Democrat fake news complex trying to sabotage a layup election. The propaganda value of electing a Democrat from Alabama is incalculable to them. However, the GOPe opportunists might be willing to sacrifice the seat to try and teach the base a lesson and protect incumbents from primaries next year.
