The NRA's Congressional Influence Is Bad. Its Judicial Clout Could Be Worse(Barf!)

After a gunman used an assault weapon to kill more than two dozen parishioners in a Texas church, just weeks after the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, President Donald Trump declared it was too soon to talk about guns. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said it was time for prayers, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., offered condolences. Advocates for stronger gun laws, in turn, urged Congress to find the courage to stand up to the gun lobby.

This Congress likely won’t heed that call because the National Rifle Association opposes new gun laws — despite bluffing an initial willingness to compromise after the Las Vegas massacre.

But even more alarming than the gun lobby’s chokehold on Congress — and covered far less frequently — is the NRA’s growing clout in shaping the federal judiciary under Trump.

WOW! I never knew we were that powerful. Just as an aside there nbc (you might want to change from peacock to unicorn) there is no choke hold on congress. Nope. Obviously someone is holding a gun to their heads. Who comes up with this tripe anyway. Never mind. Rhetorical.

You need to remember that for every actual member, there are approximately ten people who agree with the organizations positions but are not actually dues-paying members. This is a general rule of thumb that applies to all organizations, not just the NRA.

Gun control freaks like Skaggs just might be more psychopathic than the serial killers who murdered masses in Las Vegas and Texas recently.

Gun control has lead to confiscation which has lead to the murder of millions by tyrants. And I really wonder if some of these gun control freaks actually KNOW this is the endgame and it is what they really want.

Skaggs, whether he knows it or not (I’m not a mind reader), is an advocate of empowering tyrants to murder millions of innocent people.

But either way, only people with mental problems respond to mass shootings by arguing for legislation that take guns away from the innocent victims of serial killers armed with guns.

Thank God for giving the founders wisdom to enshrine the right of self-defense into the Bill of Rights.
