Syria Joins Paris Climate Accord, Leaving Only U.S. Opposed

WASHINGTON — Then there was one.

Syria announced during United Nations climate talks on Tuesday that it would sign the Paris agreement on climate change. The move, which comes on the heels of Nicaragua signing the accord last month, will leave the United States as the only country that has rejected the global pact.

According to several people who were in a plenary session at the climate talks in Bonn, Germany, a Syrian delegate announced that the country was poised to send its ratification of the Paris agreement to the United Nations.

“This is the very last country that actually announced, so everyone has joined and the U.S. is now so isolated,” said Safa Al Jayoussi, executive director of IndyAct, an environmental organization based in Lebanon that works with Arab countries on climate change.

A White House spokeswoman, Kelly Love, pointed reporters to a statement the administration made when Nicaragua joined the pact, noting there had been no change in the United States’ position.

So, you have to ask, are they doing this because it’s the reasonable thing to do? Or, are they doing it to gain a point of commonality with the rest of the world? Has anti-Trumpism become the one point of agreement bringing the rest of the world together? I suspect that’s the answer.

You know what? I think Trump can take them all on and win. They may see themselves as a pack of wolves taking down a lone lion. I see them as a gaggle of geese attacking an elephant.

The reason you have to dial 1 to reach the United States is not because we’re followers. Let them stand on their heads and pretend to save the planet. We’ve got the most advanced economy in the world to power.

Fine, let them all sign. If they want to cut their own economy’s throats - let them.

But they won’t.

Just more virtue signaling from scum sucking leftists - and the islamists that want to encourage them in their destruction of the West.

“This is the very last country that actually announced, so everyone has joined and the U.S. is now so isolated,”

Just the way we like it. Its called leadership. The entire accord was designed with one goal in mind, loot the USA and cripple her manufacturing and economy while the rest of the world enjoys the spoils. I recon they didn't see Trump coming to screw up their plans.

The Paris accord is just another scheme to transfer money from hard working citizens of successful nations into the pockets of bureaucrats and various profiteers in 3rd world countries.

Just take a look at what the many signers of the accord expect - millions of dollars for "studies", "Institutional Development", a "a Project Management Unit (PMU)" and of course, a "donor".

Here is Somalia's "contribution" to the Paris Accord. Their "contribution" will be to take millions of dollars of other people's money.

Syria and Nicaragua haven't gotten around to submitting their plans for "contributions" yet.
