I don't disagree at all with your general points, which are excellent (i.e. Senator as a representative of the people).
That said, I think we allow too many ‘average citizens’ in society to get pushed around and ‘roughed up’, sometimes literally, often figuratively. Having a candidate for the presidency dismiss the credibility and worthiness of millions of people during the presidential campaign, calling them ‘deplorables’, is also a form of nullification of their right to have their opinion counted equally to every other citizen. Actually, it's been the office holders who have too frequently degraded the stature of the offices they hold (e.g. cheating on your wife and having sex with an intern in the pantry to the Oval Office; rigging primaries, lying directly to the American people, turning a blind eye to - or actually encouraging voter fraud, using executive orders to bypass the checks and balances that were put in place by our founders, Etc. etc.).
He is an anesthesiologist, so probably he will lose his State License to practice medicine. With no income he won't be able to afford his house.

I started to like him during the primaries when he and Trump more or less laid off each other. I like a man who mows his lawn and fields himself rather than pay people other than family members to do it. If he were a Democrat, he’d probably have Pedro and Juan do it every three days and pay them in cash since they are not citizens and have no green cards and look over their shoulders for ICE all the time. But they sure do good lawn work.
