Another progressive will challenge Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein in her re-election bid to the US Senate in 2018.

Alison Hartson, 37, announced Thursday that she is entering the race for Feinstein's seat.

Hartson, head of the progressive political action committee Wolf PAC, appeared on the progressive online media network "The Young Turks" to announce her decision.

"We can't expect change from people like Dianne Feinstein who helped to create this corrupt system," Hartson said in a statement. "We can't wait for some progressive ideas to happen 20 years from now. We need a democracy that works for people and we need it now."

Cenk Uygur, founder of "The Young Turks" and head of the progressive group Justice Democrats, will advise Hartson's campaign.

Prior to becoming the national director of Wolf PAC, Hartson worked as a teacher and community organizer.

much nicer than DiFi

but DiFi has to keep running til she drops, imho

she enjoys certain practical immunity from any criminal prosecutions as long as she’s still sitting, or is still at least propped up, in the US Senate

it is, I think, just this simple

Kevin DeLeon is guilty of cultural appropriation because his parents gave him an Irish first name. I demand an apology!

For all you folks outside of California, this is how it will ALWAYS be from now on (two Democrats running), as they installed a runoff system a few years back.

This is the one-party system forcing any Republican challenger out at the time of the "primary". ONLY the two finalists get to run in November.

In other words, a Republican will NEVER be elected to the Senate from California again, as they are not allowed on the ballot. Communism-lite.

By the way, as a side-note. The California Republican Party publicly endorsed the ballot initiative that put the runoff system in-place. That's sort of like voting "yes" for your own execution.

This is a ruse to keep a Republican off the ballot. The Demoncrats have installed their one-party system in the state of California. Any media that fails to mention this is in on it.

Good for her to join the race. The more the merrier to take away votes from that Kevin DeLeon who I believe is an Illegal since his family are illegals.

The late WBZ Talk show host David Brudnoi who was a Gay Libertarian/Republican who was asked to run for Gov @ one point in MA, and said no, who used to have on the likes of William F. Buckley in Studio on a regular basis often referred to the Republican Party in the mid 90's as the Stupid Party.

David was so ahead of his time...
