“We are reaching this kind of tipping point,” said NASA climate scientist Joshua Fisher. “What we’ve been used to in terms of how much rain we’re going to get and how plants grow is no longer the norm.”

With such pseudo-scientific garbabge, the Trump administration now has names and services to be drained from the swamp.
Cut the funding of these charlatans and fearmongers NOW, not only are they useless, they are destroying science and its credibility.

What absolute BS.

  1. The hops growing region in Oregon is located in the Willamette Valley on the 45th parallel where the valley's fertile soil, moderate climate, and plentiful rainfall provide ideal conditions for high quality hop production.
  2. Dateline 4/27/17: Eugene sets a record for number of rainy days since Oct. 1, 2016

Average Annual Precipitation, Eugene, OR

Climate change is hurting craft breweries

Not nearly as much as minimum wage laws and the tax code.

more complete hogwash from the warmists.

Hops is a fricking weed. it grows all over the place here in semi-arid Colorado, and the big craft breweries here have taken to growing their own.

There are TOO MANY craft breweries in the Pacific NW now....the market is oversaturated.

Soon in some cities there will be four on each corner, just like gas stations in the old days.

Climate Change. Is there anything it cannot do?

Bull crap.
Demand is outstripping supply, and, most hops are grown in commie states, like Washington and Oregon, so I’d wager regulations hurt the growers...and, get this, Germany has many small breweries run by not old guys (like me), but rather youngsters...guess where they get their hops?? Yup, here, in the U.S....that is another reason demand is outstripping supply.

If there’s a shortage it might be because there’s almost as many Micro Breweries as there are Starbucks in Western Wa. Rainfall ain’t the problem, new record this year breaking last years record.

But American output [of hops] dropped by about a quarter last year, thanks to climate change effects.

Note how the MSM lying scums have no shame in spewing fake news.
Their article links to a propaganda piece posted by the NOAA on its gov website under the Obama administration (hopefully scrapped in the near future) and even then, there is no mention by the NOAA of any “drop”, let alone “drop by about a quarter”. On the contrary, they talk about generally higher production and data from the USDA confirm that.

-Millenials love craft beers.
-Climate fear mongers need to keep Millenials in butt-puckering states of fear.
-Thus they tell Millienials that climate change will take away their beer.

All quite simple once you learn the dance steps.

WHAT?
Climate Change.

Really, how many acres or total tonnage of hops are grown using dryland farming practices?

If one overlays a map of the Columbia River Irrigation Districts with the map showing hop farms, my guess is the overlap will be nearly 100%. Also, include the farms using on-site wells pumping groundwater.

It’s not climate change causing the decreased availability of hops. It is agricultural economics. There is more money (profit) growing wine grapes and orchard crops than growing the lowly hop vine.

Dozens of breweries have signed on to a “Brewery Climate Declaration,” agreeing to take steps to limit climate change such as using renewable energy sources in their production process.

What a total non-sequitur.

The idea that using expensive renewable energy sources would have any effect on limiting climate change is insane.

I’m still waiting for Phoenix to become Minnesota.

The snow caps arrive in Phoenix every year starting in October and ending in March.

ROTFL! Gotta feel sorry for those “craft breweries”. Imagine how bad it going to be for the marijuana industry. We’re all doomed!
