If Astros lose Game 6 then Dodgers will be favored to win Game 7 and the Series.

Last night, the way the game was going and the way the teams were running through their bull pens, I figured the managers were going to have to take the mound at some point!
When I was young the series rarely went 7 games. Now that it is fixed and liberal it goes 7 all the time. Stop watching bull crap.
The teams with the longest championship droughts are 1. Cleveland Indians 2. Texas Rangers (Senators) 3. Houston Astros. I think the Padres may have won the World Series behind ace pitcher Kevin Brown back around 2000?
The Nationals and Mariners have never been in a World Series, thus have had no chance to win one.
The Padres have made only two World Series appearances, losing to the Detroit Tigers in 1984 and to the New York Yankees in 2000. Thanks for reminding me of the Washington Senators/Texas Rangers franchise that has been in the American League since 1960 and has not won a World Series yet, losing to the San Francisco Giants in 2010 and the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011, making it the oldest MLB expansion team to not yet win a Series.
As a further note, the Pilots/Brewers franchise has made the Series only once (against the Cardinals in 1982) and the Expos/Nationals have never been to a Series yet.
Actually, the Yankees/Padres series was in 1998, as the 2000 World Series was the Subway Classic between the Yankees and the New York Mets.

Because the Dodgers have home-field advantage, a Game 5 win would increase their odds to 75.0 percent. If Houston wins Game 5, its odds are set at 61.8 percent for the remainder of the series.
Astros favored to take Game 6 by Vegas (and others) but just barely. If they lose Game 6 they will not be favored to win the Series. They MUST win Game 6.

I recall a column by Mike Royko during the playoffs in 1984 about how San Diego didn't deserve to get to the WS because San Diegans were not baseball fanatics the way the Cubs fans were (they were playing the Cubs in the playoffs).
Dodgers MUST win Game 6 or there will be no Game 7. If Houston loses Game 6, the odds may be against them but they would still have a chance to win Game 7.
The odds shift back to the Dodgers if they win Game 6. That’s all I’m saying. The odds give the Astros a very small advantage to win Game 6.

I think it’s only the old baseball “purists” in the sports media and fans that think a pitching duel is interesting.
That really makes for a boring game for the fans and players.

That’s an interesting idea: a Cubs-Tigers series in 1984, but likely the Tigers would have still prevailed back in the days of Kirk Gibson, Alan Trammell, Jack Morris, and all of the others with Sparky Anderson as manager.
As a further note, this is only the second World Series appearance for the Houston Colt 45s/Astros franchise, as their previous one was in 2005 versus the Chicago White Sox. The Sox ended their 1917 “Black Sox Scandal” drought with a 4-0 sweep of the Astros (representing the National League at the time) and the 88 year drought was the longest ended until the Chicago Cubs last year ended their 108 year old one against the Cleveland Indians.
