House Republicans on Tuesday launched a new probe covering the approval for the sale of a mining company that gave the Russians partial control over American uranium reserves.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., announced his committee and the House Oversight Committee will investigate the so-called Uranium One deal.
Were not going to jump to any conclusions, but were going to try and get the facts, Nunes said
The Hill reported that the FBI had evidence as early as 2009 that Russian operatives used bribes, kickbacks and other dirty tactics to expand Moscows atomic energy footprint in the U.S., related to a subsidiary of the same Russia firm. Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill quickly started asking questions about how the deal was approved the following year by an inter-agency committee.
Nunes said Tuesday the main question for Hill investigators will be whether there was an FBI probe at the time and if so, why was Congress not informed of this matter.
Its important that we find out why that deal went through, Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., said.

Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., threatened to use subpoena power to get access to a former FBI informant in the case who apparently has not yet been released from a nondisclosure agreement.
U.S. government officials tell Fox News that senior Justice Department officials are in deliberations over providing the FBI informant to Congress. The officials met Tuesday to work on the parameters under which the informant would be allowed to testify.

That government warehouse at the end of Raiders must be up to the rafters by now with boxes labeled ‘Hillary Clinton’.
Don’t count on the AG to do anything.
will the Clinton informant take the 5th, and can DeSantis throwm them in jail for doing so?
the House has got to get aggressive here. Newt says this is bigger than the Teapot Dome scandal
Where is the safest place on earth for the informant?
Don’t answer that.
All those non disclosure agreements with Benghazi? Now one with an FBI informant. I didn’t think you could contract to commit a crime. I guess they have to keep playing the game. Spinning wheels in the mud.
Waiting for news that the FBI informant has been Arkancided in 3.....2......1......
Did they decide the draconian NDA/gag order was illegal? Is this why Jeff punted it?
House should cut a deal and give them immunity, Clintoons have been down this road before
If the Pakistani IT people were involved, we could tie this up in a neat little bow.
“He accidentally hacked-off his head while shaving.”
Wonder if the CIA annexees’ NDAs are going into the shredder, too? Wilson croaking up Benghazi was just too weird.
On Jay Sekulow Live today, they were also calling on Jeff Sessions to release the informant and let him talk.
They said he could be subpoenaed by Congress, and it would look very bad for the AG to then fight the subpoena and keep the information from the public, who have the right to know.
Only news in this story is that informant is still alive
DeSantis should subpoena them and then carve out a deal
The gagged FBI informant needs to TESTIFY! He needs to go LIVE on national TV, where it cant be denied, edited after the fact, or redacted. At worst, hed sit in jail a week or two, if some jerk judge sent him there, till Trump pardoned him!
Christmas present for me: hillary in chains, going to jail.
“....Dont count on the AG to do anything.....”
What AG? I didn’t know we had one. Ohhhhh, you mean that UniParty subversive that sits in the AG’s chair everyday....ok, I’m with ya now. You’re right. Whatever it is, it won’t do a darn thing.
If congress really wanted to talk to the informant then pass a specific law granting him immunity for prosecution for violating the non-disclosure agreement.
