Trump himself promised to support corn ethanol. Cruz actually won Iowa while opposing the mandate. It’s not going away anytime soon. Trump keeps his promises which is why he also backed Strange. I accept the setback because having somebody who actually keeps his word in office is worth much more.

Indeed, corn grown on acreage equivalent to her entire state (36 million acres) is converted to ethanol every year.

I have to wonder, in what reality is this considered a more environmentally friendly option than the use of fossil fuels? How does converting wilderness into cropland further the goals of wildlife preservation?

Whenever people claim to promote policies to protect the environment, I look at what they are actually promoting--is it really environmental stewardship, or is it an agenda cloaked as environmentalism? And when I see that they are promoting something so environmentally unsound, then I conclude that they are promoting the socialist agenda and have very little concern about the environment at all.
