Report: Steve Bannon In 'Regular Contact' with Kid Rock About Potential Michigan Senate Bid
The Hill ^ | 10/19/17 05:05 PM EDT | By Brandon Carter -

Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon is reportedly talking to musician Kid Rock about a potential run for Senate in Michigan, according to RealClear Politics.

A source familiar with their conversations told RealClear Politics that Bannon and the musician, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, are in regular phone contact about Ritchie possibly challenging Sen. Debbie Stabenow

(D-Mich.).

Ritchie has been teasing a run for Senate for months. In July, he tweeted out a poll showing himself ahead of Stabenow in a 2018 match-up, and created a “campaign site” that has so far sent users to his merchandise page through Warner Bros. Records.

He also called out Stabenow in a statement on Twitter in July, saying Americans were “sick and tired” of “bullsh*t” from politicians. "I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I'll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bullsh*t!” Ritchie wrote.

A poll conducted in September shows Ritchie trailing by double digits in a hypothetical match-up.

Last week, Bannon declared a “season of war” on Republican lawmakers and vowed to take on the “GOP establishment” in the 2018 midterms.

The Breitbart News executive declared an early victory last month after backing former judge Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate GOP runoff. Moore defeated Sen. Luther Strange

, who was backed by Trump and congressional Republicans.

Moore's insurgent victory has Breitbart and Bannon expanding their target list for 2018, with the group now turning its attention to election fights in nearly a dozen other states, including Nevada, Arizona, Tennessee, Mississippi, Utah, West Virginia, Nebraska, Montana and Wisconsin.

Michigan can do better, but Kid Rock would likely be a better senator than Al Franken.

Even if Kid does not decide to run, whomever he decides to back will probably win.

Kid’s approval ratings are higher than Stabenow’s. He doesn’t need this job but we know he loves our country. BTW, I saw his live shows back in the late 90’s when I was a kid.

Now all we need is to have Ted Nugent decide to enter the primary too.

Think about it...Kid Rock vs Ted Nugent in the US Senate GOP primary in Michigan.

That could possible break the records for electoral craziness!

Bannon needs to move on to more electable candidates.
McConnell is patiently waiting to tell Pres. Trump
“See? I told you that would happen!”.

I still think Kid Rock is stringing this along as a publicity stunt. Why wouldn’t he? It’s good for business at this late stage of his career. Otherwise, almost nobody outside of Michigan and Ohio would be paying Kid Rock any attention. Ted Nugent is probably stunned at how easily this crossover (from legacy and popular music) has been done and wishes he had done it sooner himself.

Did Stabbie get those poll numbers from the same pollsters who said Hillary was gonna win?

“A poll conducted in September shows Ritchie trailing by double digits in a hypothetical match-up. “

Like the polls that showed Trump losing in double digits?
Rock would be awesome in my opinion.

I would buy one.
I wouldn’t wear it outside though.
Same as I don’t wear my red Trump hat outside.
I live in Marin County, Ca. Notoriously liberal, and only a few miles north of U.C. Berkeley; a hotbed of Socialist style suppression.

Any updates on Todd Palin, anybody?
Is he in a wheelchair, or walking yet?
Is he permanently disabled?
I haven’t seen a photo of him since before that terrible snowmobile ‘accident’.

Kid has started a few businesses in Detroit and hired a few people. I think one is a brewery.
