I thought the gas lines of the early 70’s were during the Nixon years and caused maybe by OPEC but also by Nixon’s price controls. But what do know.
There were two oil crises, one in 1973 and the other in 1979. Nixon’s price controls certainly contributed to the problem.
But the major factor that provoked OPEC to jack up the price of oil was a previous Nixon edict, the one that ended the postwar Bretton Woods agreement- this move broke the dollar’s last link to a gold standard.
OPEC economists correctly predicted that this would result in the devaluation of the dollar since there would no longer be an outside constraint on dollar creation. The high inflation that plagued America throughout the 70’s began here.
Amazing to hear Rush finally figure out that Bush junior is closer to Obama in belief than he is to Trump.
Not a surprise to those of us in California who were involved in the Prop 187 campaign back in 1994.
Dubya and the rest of the Make America Mexico Republicans were strident defenders of Mexico’s illegal alien invasion.
Dubya’s dedication to Amnesty for Illegals didn’t begin when he was President. And it obviously didn’t end when he left.
That’s why he was silent all through the Obama disaster but is now eager to give speeches trashing “nativists” etc, all the usual leftwing talking points that the unpatriotic dimwit supports.
