SIGN PETITION OPPOSING H.R.3999
We The People @ whitehouse.gov ^ | October 12, 2017

Posted on 10/18/2017 10:33:46 PM PDT by forty_years

WE NEED 50,000 MORE SIGNATURES BY NOV. 11 TO GET THIS PETITION REVIEWED BY THE WHITE HOUSE. SIGN HERE: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/do-not-pass-hr3999. MAKE SURE TO CLICK VERIFICATION LINK IN EMAIL YOU RECEIVE AFTER SIGNING.

H.R.3999 would "amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the manufacture, possession, or transfer of any part or combination of parts that is designed and functions to increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but does not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun, and for other purposes."

This measure could easily ban virtually any device, part, or accessory -- including OEM parts that have been refined or machined by a licensed gunsmith -- that ATF or law enforcement believes could, as the measure states, "increase the rate of fire."

This awful bill would affect millions of Americans and millions of gun parts. It must be stopped.

"The elites always protect themselves and they always protect themselves with guns. And then they lecture the American public how you shouldn't do that … what the NRA is fighting for is reciprocity, to enforce the existing federal gun laws and to protect Americans' right to protect themselves." On Hannity, NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre let Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Schumer and their anti-gun minions know that the NRA will not tolerate their use of a tragedy in their war against the Second Amendment....Wayne LaPierre

Why would I sign this petition when i believe the 2nd amendment to the constitution says that “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”?

Thanks forty_years. We really need to get serious about banning the so-called and badly misnamed Democratic Party.

If some government goons decide to show up with automatic weapons at my door I want a fight chance to have the same weapons to defend myself and my family.

“46,935 SIGNED” since October 12th? It’s not doing very well, is it. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Has it not been posted to Arf Dot Com, yet? That’s http://ar15.com/

One would expect news of the Petition to propagate well to other groups from that very busy discussion board.

Dear Davy Crocket,

re: ‘Why would I sign this petition when i believe the 2nd amendment to the constitution says that “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”?’

Because there exists an anal-cranial inversion epidemic in Washington, D.C..

Exactly, thus my earlier post, “Remember that unconstitutionality has not prevented bad legislation from getting passed.”

It only malfunctioned with the Brave browser (maybe because of my strict configuration). It works with the Firefox browser.

Freepers:

I've been working my butt off to get people to sign this petition, even going as far as buying ads on Facebook.

My efforts have yielded about 4341 new signatures and we need 48,724 signatures by November 11, 2017 to get a response from the White House.

I know this petition is not anywhere near the greatest treatise of all time addressing "gun control" legislation, but it does sum up the danger of the bill (banning anything "to increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle" could mean literally anything -- like your fingers?).

But someone put it out there at the right time and it got to almost 47,000 signatures when I found it.

Most importantly, we could get President Trump to veto and/or tweet the dang bill to death. A 100,000 signatures would also make the Republican sponsors worry about their reelection prospects in 2018, as we know the establishment types aren't exactly feeling secure these days with the Democrat Party imploding (and see "Schumer steers Dems away from gun votes").

Please kindly spread the word -- THE LINK IS https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/do-not-pass-hr3999 -- and encourage fellow patriots to sign the petition and distribute the link.

THANKS!
