Or the GALLOWS
Thanks bitt.
>>Trump, do something.<<
Trump is in for a nasty surprise from his support base if he doesn’t get his ass in gear and get this problem solved.
>> The President can’t just go around firing Swamp creatures willy-nillyas much as it may be warrantedbecause he (unfortunately, at the moment) is dependent on that same Swamp to approve their replacements.<<
This is a spurious argument because Senate approval of a replacement prior to such a dismissal is NOT a prerequisite.
>>I absolutely know how the Federal government functions. Trump is not neutered here. Stop making excuses for him. He can direct Sessions to tell the Director of the FBI to fire those involved or be fired himself. If Sessions refused, then he can go as well. All this tweeting is great, but he has the pen and the phone now, so use it.<<
I also know how the Federal government functions, having worked in the Judicial branch for 25 years, and you are absolutely correct.
I disagree. And the reason you cite as your evidence doesn't make my argument spurious. The President functions in a political realm, and I stand by my opinion that it doesn't make much sense to fire one Swamp creature, only to have the Senate insist that its replacement be another Swamp creature.
Indeed, there doesn't seem to be much available other than Swamp creatures.
Jeff Sessions was considered a Trump loyalist when he was approved by the Senate, and now many people seem to think he's protecting the Swamp.
There needs to be a semblance of stability in the executive branch, so, again, just going around firing people impulsively isn't necessarily a solution.
Who is on your pet list of Swamp creatures to be fired?
The President has fired several people, and, historically, he's been a good judge with respect to hiring and firing employees.
I'm not in a position to second guess President Trump, except to note that he has access to much more information than we do, and probably realizes the impropriety of being too hasty or impulsive. He's certainly shown that he has the courage to follow his convictions, so I'm not convinced that he should be doing anything radically different with respect to his personnel decisions...
If I'm not mistaken, that includes a majority of us. At least I know he fooled me, big time!
I would tell Wray to get rid of the bad seeds pronto and you will be my new AG. He has already been confirmed. President Trump could appoint him tomorrow. F*** the Senate! President Trump has the authority to change positions within his administration of any that have been confirmed, AT WILL!
