Jerry Jones is now center stage, but not for a reason he'd like to be.
The Hall of Famer owner took ownership of nearly every major headline in the 24-hour news feed when he took a powerful stance regarding how the Dallas Cowboys will handle the National Anthem. Through the team's Week 5 game against the Green Bay Packers, no Cowboys' player had offered any type of demonstration during the signing of the Anthem -- remaining one of the few teams with that designation.
Jones' comments were unexpected, considering the aforementioned combined with the discussions that took place after comments made by Donald Trump condemning the NFL and protestors alike. Now over a week removed from unveiling his team edict, Jones has met with his players and the Cowboys are hoping to move forward on the same page.
Get their faces - out the protesters.
So the guy protested had a few comments and showed some type of poster board, Jerry listened politely and walked away. In my opinion that is how you protest and how you handle a protest.
We should have sympathy for this “protester.” He is obviously mentally deficient and needs professional help.
Good. He and the other owners put on their pink hats and this is what they get. I hope he was very nervous.
Jones needs to shut down the Cowboys and send the boys to the unemployment line.
Boy, the protestors must really be well organized. They seem to have a list of targets and have them prioritized. The targets’ schedules are known to them and they are able to call out their goon squads at a moments notice. Someone has big bucks invested in what they are doing.
He’s not a Confederate statue is he? /rimshot
“In my opinion that is how you protest and how you handle a protest.”
Really? Someone did that to my face, I’d tell him to F off. Of course, I’m not as famous as JJ and yeah, every protest from union members to even back in college, I did the very same thing. It helps when you are over 6 ft tall.
This morally confused protestor has a right to publicly display his ingratitude for our country, but if he is serious about protesting “injustice” he should be railing against black men killing other black men and against black women killing their babies. ... but then Jerry Jones is more unlikely to cap his @ss!
Oooh, but, but, he's excused because he took a knee "before" the anthem. Nope, sorry, you took a knee, Jerry.
Where's that hand over your heart for the anthem? You're just as bad as the rest of them.
Had an acquaintance from Jr/Sr High School who had some wild tales about the fanboy time he spent down in Texas in the fringes of the gladiatorial cow circus back in the 80’s.
Got AIDS. Committed suicide. Allegedly.
I got the impression the “conservative” cultural facade down there might not be all it’s propped up to be.
Do you hear the ending?
“End White Supremacy, drive this whole regime out and it begins November 4.”
Bring it losers!
One-half of this country went insane around 2008.
I’m very sorry to say. Or it bubbled to the surface like a diseased boil.
More of the kooky “protestors” trying to start CW II. “And ethnos shall rise against ethnos” — seems a small percentage of folks are trying to make it actually happen.
The kookiness of useful idiots (IOW what was said at the end of the video) trying to start trouble makes me shake my head.
If he was in Austin it would explain everything.
Miyagi was right.
$40 million slaves? Where do these idiots come up with this BS?
If they don’t like the team rules, they can go work somewhere else.
I was a little surprised Jerry stopped and listened to the guy, of course the 3-4 goons that were packing probably kept the protester in place.
Since Jones has been outspoken, he should have prepared for this nonsense by having a few brutes on the payroll to keep them away.
The trick is to double sub-contract them, so you don’t pay them directly. Instead you hire a contractor to sub-contract to the guy that hires them. So they “just happen to be there” when the jerks try to get in your face.
