Had an acquaintance from Jr/Sr High School who had some wild tales about the fanboy time he spent down in Texas in the fringes of the gladiatorial cow circus back in the 80’s.

Got AIDS. Committed suicide. Allegedly.

I got the impression the “conservative” cultural facade down there might not be all it’s propped up to be.

Just as many major cities have their gay quarters, I'm sure Dallas has an area where there are plenty of homosexual bars and discos(did I just date myself?)

What stunned me was that Dallas allowed their confederate statues to be removed... by the city government.

It is just as liberal as any other big city.

Sad.
