They will get the recharging down to 15 minutes or less. They will get the speeds up to the point that they’ll compete in the INDY 500.

The next car I get will be a total electric car. I love this Lexus RX450. Amazing engineering. I hate every second that it’s burning gas. I’m not getting the greatest mileage, almost 30 mph, but this is a 6 cylinder SUV. It has a lot of zip. The range on the car is almost 500 miles.

I know a person personally who was asked to administer the e-indy thingy. He said he is already getting enough sleep.

15 minutes to charge? That is a lot of heat to transfer. You will need battery terminals the size of frying pans.

"The range on the car is almost 500 miles."

How much of that range is electric only? What climate do you live in? How much will it cost to replace the batteries? Not trying to be an a$$, just asking.

How will they overcome the heat issue of 15-minutes charging existing batteries of millions of plug in hybrids and evs?

And to retrofit neighborhood transformers to accomodate this, and costs to each driver for the special hardware to do this, how much is the price tag?

I invite you to make a trip on I-80 from San Fran to Chicago. See how far you get beteen ‘charging stations’ across Nevada-—Utah-—Wyoming—Nebraska, etc. I suggest you have food & blankets with you. It is a long way to the ‘next place’ all across those states.

Electric cars of the future are going to be awesome. I'm not going to miss my old gas-burning vehicles. Right now they're still gimmicky but the technology is rapidly approaching where electric vehicles are just going to make sense over petroleum.

I've practically replaced all my corded power tools with batteries and I've never looked back. Once the power is there, I'll do the same with my lawn equipment. It's quite probable that the 2015 Tacoma I'm currently driving will be the last gas-powered vehicle I ever own.
