Another Reason to Homeschool.
Yup. I remember my high school days where my French language teacher commented about traveling on a bus in France and locals chattering on the bus would be talking in French about the stupid Americans on the bus (referring to my teacher and her friend). Because she and her friend were speaking American English the French locals assumed they were ignorant tourists. She gleaned a lot of info by feigning ignorance of the language. Now if the French locals told her to speak French, she would not take offense. But these illegal Mexican freeloaders in the USA take offense when we as for the courtesy of speaking English in a classroom or job setting.
Isn’t speaking English one of the requirements of citizenship? It should be required in a public school classroom as well.
This is America.
We speak English here.
If you want to speak another language in public, do it in a country where that is the native language.
Assimilate or leave.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
See H. L. Mencken's excellent, scholarly and entertaining book (plus two supplements), entitled, "The American Language."
As much as I appreciate the sentiment of Speak
American this teacher is wrong. Our troops fight to defend our Constitution i.e. our freedom. But then many people believe they are there to keep us safe or keeps us prosperous so why not add English?
” that student can be heard saying on the video. “I know how to speak English.””
if the student admits this and yet wasn’t speaking english, then there was no racism, just a student not fulfilling their responsibility in that class. Teacher is correct and is not teaching if they don’t call out the problem with the students language choice.
If it was an english as second language class, then maybe a different story.
In Mexico they speak Spanish. In America we speak English. The wetbacks can’t understand that. If they don’t want to speak English, they need to go home.
Misinterpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment.
This isn’t a ghetto; the problem is that because Americans are 1) refusing to breed, and 2) abandoning NJ, this is the future of public education in NJ. It is a microcosm of what is coming to every state in the Union: Primarily foreign young people in schools paid for by primarily ageing American taxpayers.
