Detroit, Michigan, October 10, 2017: An attempted robbery in Detroit didnt turn out the way the criminal hoped it would. A concealed handgun permit holder was able to react quickly. Police told the CPL holder it was a good thing he was legally armed or he and his cousin may not be alive today.

Hmmmm,you are correct.
Yep - always have one chambered.
Interesting to see how it works in real life.
Nice takedown of the perp’s weapon.
No plan for the aftermath. All hell breaks loose. No plan survives first contact with the enemy.
CFL was left dancing around in the middle of the street, instead of taking cover behind the vehicle. But you make poor decision in the heat of the moment.
All in all, a good result.
(4 hits in a crossfire is much preferable to one aimed execution shot to the head)
When I first started carrying, I carried unchambered. That lasted about a month.
It’s an easy habit to break.
Raised in the NRA but my Dad was of the opinion that when you pulled a gun with nothing in the chamber, what you really pulled was a rock which needed time to be turned into a gun...my wife and I both carry with a round chambered and we both expect every gun in the home/on our person/anywhere else to be ready to go. That’s the biggest “trick” - always treat every weapon as if it’s loaded and ready to fire.
