Will Liberals Give Weinstein the O’Reilly Treatment?
New York Times ^ | Bari Weiss

Posted on 10/12/2017 11:36:13 AM PDT by nickcarraway

I’ll never forget the one time I laid eyes on Harvey Weinstein outside the pages of Vanity Fair. It was at a movie premiere in Manhattan in 2014. My sister and I got up before the film started for a pre-emptive bathroom run. As we left the theater, we couldn’t avoid walking past Mr. Weinstein, who was pressed up close to a younger, much smaller man in the hallway.

Mr. Weinstein was inches from the younger man, pointing fingers at his face, swearing at him and threatening him. The man being berated was flush against the wall. He stood there, taking it, not saying a word.

I’d read enough profiles of Mr. Weinstein to know about his money troubles and his gorgeous wife and his boiling temper. Still, I’d never seen a person talk to another that way. It shocked me. But the most astonishing thing about it was that this happened in public — at a Weinstein-produced movie, no less. Powerful people streamed by this shameful interaction and said nothing.

As it turns out, younger, less powerful women say his bullying, predatory behavior toward them was equally unconcealed. But it took dogged Times reporters to nail down the details and they are vile.

Among the accusations against Mr. Weinstein: He asked a young Ashley Judd to watch him shower. He would lure eager female strivers into “business” meetings in his luxury hotel rooms where he’d ask them for massages. One woman warned another to wear a parka for extra protection. Assistants were expected to rouse Mr. Weinstein in the mornings and do “turndown duty” at night. He seemed to be in bathrobes or naked as often as Hugh Hefner. According to The Times, he paid settlements to “at least” eight women who have accused him of sexual harassment.

They’re going to have to rely a lot more on Haim Saban of Saban Productions. Unlike Weinstein, Saban is immensely well-liked by the Hollywood crowd.

No Harvey suffers from a mental affliction.
With help, and support, he’ll be free to raise big money for hillary’s next failed Presidential run.
As well as hillary’s next 25 million dollar book deal.
Not to mention he will probably avoid jail time.

Oh freaking please!!! Within two years they will be feting this guy and handing him an award for having the courage to face his addiction. He will give a rousing acceptance speech discussing all he has learned about the injustices suffered by women. He will then proceed to endorse Kamala or Crazy Horse and discuss at length how they will fight the evil groper Donald Trump.

Tell me you can’t honestly picture the above-happening.

I’ll never forget the one time I laid eyes on Harvey Weinstein

The first time I saw a pic of his unshaven mug, I wanted to wipe myself off, as if I had been dipped in slime. In all my life, I have never seen a more repulsive character - he REEKED of corruption.

Cyrus Vance Jr, New York County District Attorney (Manhattan), apparently had much of the story with a wiretap witness several years ago. Now questions are being directed his way as to why they did not proceed, could it be fellow LEFTies of New York City with both having that 'D' and being Clinton Friends?

No, I don't see the above happening, but that has only to do with money. Over the next couple of years, Harvey Weinstein is going to have to do two things with his money: spend it and hide it. He is going to be hemorrhaging money on lawyers’ fees — criminal lawyers, divorce lawyers, civil lawyers — and shrinks for his wife, his five children, and himself. That's BEFORE he buys-off or settles all the lawsuits he is going to have to fight, settle, or avoid. And what money he isn't going to be spending, he is going to be hiding to protect from future lawsuits. There just won't be enough money for Weinstein to donate to liberal politicians and politically correct causes to make it worth anyone’s effort to shout down critics when they take his checks.

Unfortunately, there are many other rich people in Hollywood/DC who will be happy to fund noxious causes such as Planned Parenthood who will take Harvey's place.

The New York Times article implies there is a double standard: LIBERALS get a pass and CONSERVATIVES must pay the price.

Bill O'Reilly was not RAPIST like WEINSTEIN, but the press skewered him pretty good. In the case of RAPIST WEINSTEIN, he had ALLIES to squash articles/reports.

To leftists it is all no big deal. Lenin described the ideal of Women's Liberation. It's goal is to create a Community of Women to whom the leading men- in the Hollywood sense and the Bolshevik sense- have free access to women. In the Utopia of Liberated Women men are in total control and women provide for moments of recreation.

Sexual Revolution

“... it took dogged Times reporters to nail down the details and they are vile.”

Should be rewritten.

“They” has an indefinite antecedent / referent.

Might be construed to mean that the Times reporters were vile, not the details. [Insert reasonable joke here!]

Bill Oreilly is an identified Conservative. Any thoughts or actions of a sexual nature are Horribly Abusive to Women. Weinstein and the rest of the Producers are Left Democrats who feed left politicians with piles of money. For them these things, short of obvious murder are just minor peccadillos because their hearts and dollars are in the right place.

New York Times, in the article, points out the double standard.

Bill O'Reilly said something wrong.

Weinstein RAPED women.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

The BIG difference is that BO’R is a conservative and EVIL.
Weinstein is a money source, a leftist, and a good man just having a little fun.

...........or (other interesting scenarios):

(1) Harvey decides to go scorched earth and he outs A LOT of other serial harassers/rapists in Hollywood (like Ben Affleck). That would be fun.
(2) He actually becomes suicidal and offs himself. Honestly, that might be the simplest, most efficient way to see some cosmic justice and move on.
(3) Harvey only PRETENDS he’s suicidal in order to get sympathy; instead of going to jail, he gets put in a five star “inpatient behavioral health facility” (mental hospital)
(4) He has a massive heart attack because after all, he’s a grossly overweight fat pig slob, probably 120 pounds overweight

Any of the above are plausible.

Kate Beckinsale reports on Harvey Weinstein sleaze

katebeckinsale: I was called to meet Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I assumed it would be in a conference room which was very common. When I arrived, reception told me to go to his room . He opened the door in his bathrobe . I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older ,unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him .After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left ,uneasy but unscathed.A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting .I realized he couldn't remember if he had assaulted me or not .I had what I thought were boundaries - I said no to him professionally many times over the years-some of which ended up with him screaming at me calling me a c##t and making threats, some of which made him laughingly tell people oh "Kate lives to say no to me ." It speaks to the status quo in this business that I was aware that standing up for myself and saying no to things, while it did allow me to feel uncompromised in myself, undoubtedly harmed my career and was never something I felt supported by anyone other than my family.I would like to applaud the women who have come forward , and to pledge that we can from this create a new paradigm where producers, managers, executives and assistants and everyone who has in the past shrugged and said " well, that's just Harvey /Mr X/insert name here " will realize that we in numbers can affect real change. For every moment like this there have been thousands where a vulnerable person has confided outrageous unprofessional behavior and found they have no recourse, due to an atmosphere of fear that it seems almost everyone has been living in .I had a male friend who, based on my experience, warned a young actress who said she was going to dinner with Harvey to be careful. He received a phone call the next day saying he would never work in another Miramax film ;the girl was already sleeping with Harvey and had told him that my friend had warned her off.Let's stop allowing our young women to be sexual cannon fodder, and let's remember that Harvey is an emblem of a system that is sick, and that we have work to do.
