The “no oppression in the past 100 years” was an inarguably erroneous statement. There hasn’t been oppression in the NFL in its 97 year history, but there certainly has been in the US during the past 100 years. None of it in the lifetimes of the current crop of NFL players.
Ditka should have just ‘revised and extended’ his remarks, not apologized, unless he didn’t “apologize” but that’s the word used by the writer.
