Detective Jeff Payne, the man who arrested nurse Alex Wubbels at a Salt Lake City hospital after she refused to perform a drug test on an unconscious patient, has been fired. From the Associated Press:
"Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown made the decision after an internal investigation found evidence Detective Jeff Payne violated department policies when he arrested nurse Alex Wubbels and dragged her out of the hospital as she screamed on July 26, said Sgt. Brandon Shearer, a spokesman for the department".
"Attorney Greg Skordas has said Payne served the department well for nearly three decades and questioned whether his behavior warranted termination. He couldnt immediately be reached for comment Tuesday".

Stupid cops get an education.

I would have hung the supervisor even higher than the perp. It sends a bigger message.

(urope. Why do they put up with this.)
To: Navy Patriot
There are thousands of power-hungry, jack-booted, statist cops still on the job across America, but I’m glad this jerk is fired.

I’m sure the bootlicks will be along to tell us this is all still the nurse’s fault.

In other words, he’s spent almost 30 years flashing his badge and getting his way...
To: DIRTYSECRET
DS, oh yes. He was directly backed up by his supervisor. That is another head that should roll.
To: DIRTYSECRET
You’re forgetting the police chief and the mayor who went along with the coverup story that the nurse had it coming to her...which was why the nurse released the video.

I believe the supervisor got busted down from Lieutenant to patrol officer at the same time the officer got fired.

Is it still the nurses fault?

I guess she ( the nurse ) showed him whos the boss in her world.Actually, nurse Alex Wubbels authority was created by her adherence to the Rule of Law and the Constitution.
She didn't just declare herself "Boss".

I believe the supervisor got busted down from Lieutenant to patrol officer at the same time the officer got fired. Which means the ignorant meathead can do more damage.

If the was busted down from Lieutenant to patrol officer, depending on what kind of supervisor he was, it might not be much fun being on the streets with his former subordinates.

Nope. The taxpayers will shoulder the financial burden while he walks away from it, and he'll probably find himself with another law enforcement job elsewhere.

No, police officers that don't turn in the bad apples among them, as well as belonging to unions that publicly defend pieces of human garbage like this cop are what gives police officers a bad reputation.
Notice that there were other law enforcement officers present when he was going crazy on that nurse, and they did nothing, even though they knew that cop was violating multiple laws and his own department's policies.
That cop felt very comfortable doing what he did, which tells me it's not the first time he has pushed civilians around.
