Regular MSNBC Guest Urges Gun Control, Can't Explain How It Would Help

On Monday's show, after the former Bush administration member argued that the police should have been notified that Stephen Paddock had bought so many guns, but declined to specify the exact number he thought should trigger police action, host Carlson followed up, referring to Painter's Twitter rants:

But your claim -- explicit claim -- that this could have been solved by laws -- you said that repeatedly and suggested that anyone who didn't agree with you had, quote, "blood money" in their pockets, which is a heavy thing to say. So, again, what specific law are you calling for?

Painter responded:

We can talk about the NRA blood money, what they're doing to the Republican party, or we can talk about the solutions. I focus now on the solution --

After Carlson jumped in to push for him to discuss his proposed solution, his guest continued:

Law enforcement ought to know if someone has acquired dozens of weapons, and they can use that information along with other information. For example, is the person associating with known terrorists? Is the person associating with the Ku Klux Klan? Is the person who appears to be psychologically unsettled?

SMH! #onlygunviolencematters. They don't care if a new law will help prevent another incident like Vegas because by golly they DID SOMETHING. Yeah! We did something. Everybody gets a trophy. And you know they are gonna push something through. Because our CONgress critters won't dare stand up to them.

Republican Richard Painter sounds like a totalitarian... a liberal ‘elite’. Why the hell is he in our party?

This feint to screen for mental health problems runs smack into HIPAA medical privacy requirements. I don’t know how the hoplophobes get around that law.

And just how is the government going to know if you purchased “X” number of firearms in a specified time frame without a national registry?

To which party, pray tell, would you refer as "ours?"

Neither party is "our" party. It's "their" party and everyday Americans are clearly not welcome.

Let’s be bloody honest; the liberals want to ban all guns. That’s it, period, no guns except for their security systems. Well, and concealed carry for themselves. And maybe their loved ones.

Alright, let’s put it more honestly: Liberals want to have all the guns so that conservatives will finally realize that they’ve lost. Just a bit hard figuring out the path of how this happens as they continue to lose seats in state capitals and at the federal level. But if they had all the guns, this would be over very quickly.

They will gut the 2nd Amendent but yet they won’t use Stop and Frisk because of the 4th Amendment. Any hypocrisy here?

They want to disarm America, white Dem libs don’t care black kids are dying but they sure want to lecture you on racism.

What happened to the gun “he” bought on the way to the LV atrocity?
It ‘disappeared’—HUH??
Since not an ‘assault-rifle’, I suppose it wandered into some cop’s gun stash.

“They will gut the 2nd Amendent...They want to disarm America...”

With what and by what means?

The 2nd Amendment is absolutely repeal-proof. Read the story of the repeal of the very unpopular 18th Amendment; it was an extremely difficult process just as the Founders intended.

OK, five lefty states have passed ex post facto `assault weapons’ bans, 2nd Amendment be d@mned. Owners must sell, turn in, or move them out of state. Compliance is hovering around 5% but none of these states are planning to carry out door-to-door confiscations. It’s a standoff aka two-way firing range.

The disarming of Americans didn’t even approach beginning to happen under Clinton and Obama. Isn’t going to happen now.

Ban bumpfire stocks? Better ban all shooters’ thumbs, too, because that & a belt loop is all that’s needed to bump fire.

Gun grabbers are long on condemnatory rhetoric & short on concrete proposals. `Name & shame’ was tried until the publishers of names found their homes & addresses listed on google earth, with directions. Sauce for the goose, etc.

The New World Order needs us disarmed.
The Bushbot did a poor job convincing us that being disarmed is for our own good.

This is what “moderate” Republicans look like, undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.

The Senate is full of them.

Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.

We need new Republicans.

No more Bushes, ever.

That’s exactly what they want, that is what “universal background checks” is all about.
Once every transfer is recorded they have a de facto registry.
So they know where to go to confiscate.
