You could also get a new Ford F 150. They have a,neat drive by wire thing that lets you twist a dial and the truck takes care of the rest. Also on new Lincoln Navigators. A wee tad pricey, though.

Wow impressive. The 38 pound kayak would certainly fit there.

I watched some poor bastardo drown on the Snake River in one of those dammed kayaks. There was nothing anyone could do. Instead get one of those inflatable duckies. Then when it capsizes (not if) you can easily come out of it.

Buy an inflatable and a good pump that runs off of 12V DC

You can even mount a foldout tent up there and go camping in bear country without entering the food chain while you sleep:

“the seat belt doohickey is adjustable.” Quite the invention!
They came out shortly after the Asians started driving their own cars, go figure.

It’s a Chrysler product. The seats should be easily removable with a 9mm or 14mm socket. After the seat is out please put the nuts back on the bolts in the floor and snug them down (don’t want to try and find where you put them down the road). Possibly will be some wires that will have a plug, you should be able to separate it with a smaller flat head screw driver. Youtube is great for stuff like that. Good luck!

This works. I can get a 120 lb Jon boat on top of my Jeep Cherokee (by myself) no problem doing this.

"Tire is too heavy..."

"I'm too short...Fact..."

"Cannot back up a trailer..."

Have you thought about a bicycle?

They make a carrier that uses a wheel that attaches to a boat that will roll right the front of a car and up on the roof.

It sounds dumb but they work to let one person load a boat on the roof.

A few suggestions:
Get a roof rack and have someone design a pulley system to get the kayak up and down without help.
Find a truck driver school and take a class how to back up with a trailer. The secret is not in in the Y chromosome.

Those seats look heavy.

However I could take the important ones out for kayak season. The nice man at the garage could do that.

“I drive a Jeep Compass which is higher than an average car and at 5’4” getting an awkward item like a kayak up and over my head is a challenge. This bar has definitely made getting my boat up on the racks easier. It’s helpful in guiding the boat where it needs to go up top and taking some of the weight off. I hated to spend any more money on this rack system than I already had but truthfully it has been money well spent.”

I have a Prius and I have strapped my 10’ kayak to the roof successfully. I use the foam blocks to keep it up off the roof. I run ratchet straps through the car above the doors and up and over and around the kayak. I also tie ropes from the kayak to the front and back of the car. It has to be offset to the passenger side to avoid the antenna. Works great.
