Roof rack. Folding ladder/stool (plenty compact enough to carry in the Jeep’s cargo space).

Don’t over compensate to much. It is nice to have a good view though. LOL

Don’t trade your Jeep in for a Prius

There are pulley systems you can use in your garage to lift - provided that your ceiling is high enough. Alternatively I have seen but not us d a similar pulley on a pole by the driveway . Similar to s basketball pole. Just a thought.

Course you could build a ramp down into your yard so the roof is at your height... but I imagine that’s a bit much.

LOL, but a pellet gun would probably do.

In all seriousness, the Rack that lifts the Kayak from the side looks like your best option, but it is pricey.

Bad seats!! They are removable for punishment. Set the worst offender in the corner of the garage, giving yourself more vehicular flexibility.

I don’t have an answer to your problem but just had my own. We have a nine foot dinghy with a 3.5 hp 4 stroke that hangs on the rails of our boat. Used to have a young guy that lived by me that would come take the motor off the rail and put it on the dinghy for me. He moved. I’m scared of trying to lift the heavy sucker because I just know it’ll wind up in the water. Soooooo.......I bought an electric motor for the dinghy. Lol. Men sure do come in handy at times. 😎🤷‍♂️🚣‍♀️⛵️ _________________________ we have to adapt!

every once in a while I had to swap vehicles with my son who drove a lifted Silverado with oversized tires. He made me a little step stool out of a milk crate with a bungee cord so I could get in. I was concerned that I would turn into an internet meme, you know, Mom driving my truck.

Now he has a Subaru WRX and we had to switch the other day. That little sucker has some power. Like driving a four wheeled motorcycle.

Good for you. I, too, have a Scanoe and get it up onto my Navigator the way you describe.

I wouldn’t be able to drive out of the garage after it was on.

Reminds me of the time the children and I got the Christmas tree on the roof rack of the Xterra. We got home and drove into the garage with the tree on top. Shaved the branches on one side clean off.

We stood it in the corner and made a wreath.

Get one of those Sherpa roof racks with a detachable side ladder. The rack will probably cost more than the kayak, but your Jeep will look even more cool and you will have gained added utility, all sorts of attachments for the rack, even auxiliary lighting, baskets, all sorts of stuff above and beyond kayak carriers. Some have enough clearance to put the top down with the rack left in place.

I gotta start reading the documentation. I bought a seat belt clip because I was tired of the seat belt protecting my nose. My son showed me last night that the seat belt doohickey is adjustable.

Get a ladder. Then you can put it on the roof.

“He made me a little step stool out of a milk crate with a bungee cord so I could get in.” Would have made a great video!!

“Subaru WRX” Subaru did quite the job with that build. The beginner hobbyist street racers love them, pretty easy to tweak for more power as well. Glad you enjoyed the ride!

You have been a member for a long time. You should know better than to post this in News/ Activism. It’s fine to post on General/ Chat, Bloggers/ Personal, etc. but come on, this is not news.
Good luck with the kayak.
