Federal Kurdistan Regions President Barzani has come to an agreement on 4 points with Iraqi Vice Presidents Allavi and Nuceyfi for a solution to the issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
Federal Kurdistan Regions President Masoud Barzani and Iraqi Vice Presidents Iyad Allavi and Usame Nuceyfi have reached an agreement on 4 points for a solution to the issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
Federal Kurdistan Region Presidential Council Chairperson Fuad Hussein announced that the 3-party meeting has concluded with agreement on 4 points for a solution to the issues.
In the statement, Hussein said all three parties have agreed on the points of Starting meetings between parties and political parties to ease the tense atmosphere in Iraq, having the meetings over an open agenda, an immediate lifting of the sanctions imposed upon the KRG and starting meetings between Baghdad and Erbil as soon as possible.
Barzani issued a statement on Saturday and said they wanted to resolve the issues with the Baghdad administration through dialogue.
I didn't know until this day that it was Barzani all along.
Uncle Joe Biden was correct when he said that Iraq should be broken up into 3 regions giving the Kurds there own nation.
“Show me the (oil) money!”
Millions of reasons for them to successfully work things out.
Also the prospect of freedom. Something Kurds have not know in modern history.
Can they make a go of that? I think it depends on lots of things. What they do and what their neighbors do.
They deserve chance to do it. In my opinion.
You mean “plugs”? Headshake
Talabani just died.

RIP Great Uncle Jalal Talabani
Beat me to it.
Lifting of sanctions. Is promising.
The Iraqi PM does not look happy in that photo - I guess Barzani has more leverage (or more backbone) than they thought.
Exactly. Come to think of it, how many nations have military there? Quagmire can happen real fast.
Yes, I am relieved that this first step has been made.
The US said from the beginning, whatever the Baghdad government and the KRG worked out in negotiations, was OK with the US.
This is a step toward that.
Probably both.
The issue in Baghdad is the Shia dominace.
I do appreciate your judgment on the Iraq side of this. I have little in the way of contacts there. Most of my sources of current affairs there are from the Syrian Kurds.
I do know a couple of couple of well informed US military vets who are on Twitter with me and comment regularly, an Ezidi who I’ve know a while who is in Iraq, two Iraqi pro Christian groups who posts on Twitter, and a writer for a news source in Iraq who I have some exchanges with.
Must admit, it is a challenge to try and understand all the various elements. It is impossible to keep track of the Jihadi’s that are left. The morph or molt daily.
The big pain in the rump, consistently comes from Turkey and Iran.
