sign on door for longer than 12 hours?
is there a way they know exactly when it was put up to know when 12 hours is?
who’s to say there is not need to check after 2 hours in some cases?
while their choice of timing to check on the room after 12 hours could actually disturb the occupant who may be sleeping at that time or in the shower or otherwise not in a position to answer the door but they and the room are just fine.
Wynn should consider having policy that every 24hrs the occupant needs to notify desk all is well. As he has it now, it seems more to me as disruption to the guest and invasion of privacy at timing of the hotel’s choice, it should be at the convenience of the occupant.
He may live to regret that claim.
Steve Wynn’s a liar as to “hotel security” versus the “casino” side of security.

Hotels use computer swipe cards. They log when every room is opened and what card was used. It would be easy for the maid to know when a room was last entered. In fact the hotel system likely directs their work flow based on room occupancy.
There were interviews with maids that said they were cleaning/stocking the room and saw nothing wrong. He may have had a do not disturb sign out on the last day but the maids said they were cleaning as normal.
He may have been moving things to the room for days, but if he didn't unpack until the last- what would have set off alarm bells with staff?
Just thinking that.
Reminds me of my sister, she was on one of the first planes to fly after 9/11. She said her ticket was dirt cheap, very few on the plane- and she felt the odds of something happening were as close to zero as they would ever be. As we watched her flight come down the stairs- it looked like everyone but her was likely a fed of some sort or another.
When we picked her up at airport there were armed soldiers everywhere. That was different.
” a Do Not Disturb sign on a door for longer than 12 hours is investigated.”
Kind of embarrassing for honeymoon couples.
