Schumer Says He Rebuffed Another Offer From Trump on Health Care
NY Times ^ | Oct. 7, 2017 | MARK LANDLER

President Trump reached out to the Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer, on Friday to propose yet another effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, but Mr. Schumer later said he had quickly shot down the offer.

Mr. Trump’s phone call, which he announced in a tweet on Saturday morning, was his latest overture to Democrats, after reaching a bipartisan spending deal and forging an unexpected, if tentative, alliance on immigration with Mr. Schumer and the House Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi.

The president has vented frustration with the serial failure of Republicans in the Senate to strike down the health care law, the signature legislative achievement of President Barack Obama, and he has threatened to work with Democrats to fashion a new law.

Well, so much for bipartisanship to solve the problems.

Trump and the Republicans need to focus on getting things done and stop paying any attention to the Democrats.

The President wasn’t born last night.
How could he not know that Schumer will always pull the football away ?
And use it to score points with his fellow RATs ?
Unless Scumer’s NO is part of a plan ?

I’m beginning to hate the Republicans. They have been absolutely worthless ever since Trump was elected.

Each Senator needs to be approached individually and the results forwarded to their voters.

Time for hardball.

Obamacare has been propped up by massive federal subsidies from the beginning. The more Schumer et al rebuff Trump, the less financial assistance Obamacare will receive. Schumer’s bragging now, but he’ll be wailing and caterwauling when Trump kicks the props out from under Obamacare.

No need to paint with such a broad brush. There are only about 5 troublemakers in the Senate — 4 GOPe; and 1 who doesn’t know that the perfect can be the enemy of the good.

He made a regulation change that annoys the Dems then he reaches out. He then tweets that he reached out. Chuck U runs to the media to ensure leftist that he won’t negotiate healthcare with Trump. Whom do you think looks silly? I suspect he’ll do this over and over. If the Senate had a Trump like leader the country might stand a chance. As it stands, Trump may slow the tide of the fall but not enough help to stop it. We’ll see

You’re right. It’s just four or five that are stopping us. Can we please primary at least some of them out?

The President made the offer for just that reason. The Dems confirm themselves once more as the losers they are and POTUS gets to claim the high ground.

We? Easier said than done. Those RINO politicians are probably doing what their RINO voters want in some of those states. We are not going to get a conservative in Maine until we first reach and persuade the voters. I do think it's possible someone a bit more conservative can take over McCain's seat.

We had RINO phone calls seeking so called party donations. When results are ZERO its a big NO.
