[Intro by Topher: a High School cheerleader (small female) was put in ICU by football player. She was defending Autistic student from football player. Football player hit her multiple times. With that, read the article] Correct title: Breaux Bridge student hospitalized Wednesday; her parents speak out [Article takes 6 paragraphs to tell you what I told you in my Intro]

BREAUX BRIDGE (LA.) KLFY- The St. Martin Parish the Sheriff’s Department and the St, Martin Paris School Board are officially investigating an incident that left one Breaux Bridge high student hospitalized. Regan Boudreaux, a junior at Breaux Bridge high loved to cheer. As a flyer, she was dropped in a stunt and suffered a concussion at practice. When her mother reached out to the school to find out what happened she says she was shocked. “They told us that two weeks prior to practice she had fallen but they knew what to look for, they specialize in recognizing concussions and stuff like that and that she didn’t experience any symptoms,” said Regan’s mother, Terra Boudreaux. Regan went to see the school’s concision specialist and was discharged after 6 weeks and was cleared to cheer. After getting a second opinion from an outside doctor the Boudreaux’s learned that Regan was not okay and had suffered a severe concussion. On Wednesday, Regan’s mom received a phone call from the assistant principal. The school said that they had found Reagan disoriented and bleeding from her nose and her mouth and that they didn’t know what happened to her. “I told him that I needed to know if she had hit her head, or what type of incident she was in because she had a concussion before,” said Terra. The school said they couldn’t give her any details about the incident because there were no cameras were the altercation took place in the cafeteria. The assistant principal told her they would have to go by what witnesses saw. Terra says other students have told her that Regan was defending a friend that has autism. Supposedly a football player shoved her friend and Regan stepped up. “He got shoved, they said that Reagan got in front of him and told the football players to just leave him alone. And that’s when the football player shoved her. And that’s when they’re saying that they don’t know if she had him back but he hit her in the face multiple times,” says Terra. Regan spent three days at women’s and Children’s Hospital. She’s now home recovering and with the help of friends and family putting together the pieces on what happened that day. “She went to homecoming last weekend and she doesn’t remember that,” says Terra. Reagan has experienced severe memory loss. She can’t remember the last three months or what happened that day. The Boudreaux’s have been told that there is an investigation into what happened, but that isn’t enough. “You can’t tell me that it wasn’t intentional what he did. No he didn’t mean to give her a concussion or whatever but he meant to hit her and how many times did he hitter I don’t know,” says Terra. We reached out to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department and the school board, both said there is an investigation but gave no details.

Why? Has Antwan fallen out of favor as a name choice?

When I was a kid there was a household of bullies down the street. We could defend ourselves agains the boys all we wanted but my mother said that no matter what the girl did we could not hit back. She was insistent: NEVER HIT A GIRL! Different age.

Agree, this Dad is already plotting in his mind with that look. I suspect that with that look he knew who the player was and it wouldn’t surprise me if he knew the family too with that look in his eyes.

"I have thought of the idea of having Louisiana build the BIG MOSQUITO prison in a swamp that is a wildlife refuge filled with water moccasins, alligators, alligator gars."

Never been to Angola, have you? My dad worked there as a guard for a while when jobs were scarce (sixty years ago). Your description is a good match. Admittedly, it isn't a wildlife refuge, but the rest is pretty accurate.

I’m the youngest of four siblings, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and the one thing the brothers learned early on is that you don’t strike females. I made the mistake once of stomping on my mother’s toes, and that earned a (deserved) belt whipping from my father. My brothers got whipped for beating on each other. And our mother was handy with a bar of soap when our mouths needed washing out. The 3 brothers service academy grads and military officers, sister a nurse. We had lots of love and a good bit of discipline growing up. Thanks, Mom & Dad, R.I.P.

The kid would be in jail...or his name would be given out..football being king or not...something doesnt jive here...just sayin’

I agree. The “autistic student” aspect bothers me combined with a previous concussion and a physical assault with witnesses. All red flags. No school system would not have, at minimum, suspended the attacker on the spot. Football has nothing to do with the facts of this story.

It’s perfectly ok to beat a little girl senseless if you are a football player....

I have always liked the idea of putting prisoners in an island with no way to leave and no visitors. It would be a life sentence. No one of the opposite sex. The only people you see are other prisoners. BIG MOSQUITO prison sounds like a nice alternative. No need to build expensive prisons.

Steroids will do that to a jock.

At this point I’m not willing to presume race absent more facts.

Cute girl. Here’s her Twitter page with photos. https://twitter.com/reaganboudreaux?lang=en I’m surprised someone hasn’t dealt with the football player yet.

“No one found out about that until the black students posted a video of the attack on SOCIAL MEDIA.”

Kids have always had an omerta thing going on.

You’ve heard the saying, “You’re ugly and your mother dresses you funny?” That was originally coined for me. In my time, K-12, 1956-1968, I was in (best estimate) 250-some fights, rarely one-on-one. And the only way a fight got reported was if an adult called the police.

We beat each other up, but we didn’t send anybody to the hospital or use weapons, and *nobody*ever* hit a girl.

I agree. We lost a city police officer in South Lousiana this week. He was shot Sunday and buried on Friday.

It was a WHITE guy that was the perp. This was in the Acadiana area not far from Breaux Bridge.

Just a creepy photo. I saw a photo of her on TV about this article in her cheerleading outfit. That was a much better photo than the one is this thread.

Stepdaughter was a ‘flyer’ in CA. She was dropped and wrenched her back. Graduated with lifetime chronic back pain.

The aerial moves are spectacular; but the cost seems too high and unrecoverable due to the delay in symptoms from the originating accident. Snowflakes might notice they don’t wear helmets while performing, but they have to wear helmets riding their bikes to school.
