[Intro by Topher: a High School cheerleader (small female) was put in ICU by football player. She was defending Autistic student from football player. Football player hit her multiple times. With that, read the article] Correct title: Breaux Bridge student hospitalized Wednesday; her parents speak out [Article takes 6 paragraphs to tell you what I told you in my Intro]

BREAUX BRIDGE (LA.) KLFY- The St. Martin Parish the Sheriff’s Department and the St, Martin Paris School Board are officially investigating an incident that left one Breaux Bridge high student hospitalized. Regan Boudreaux, a junior at Breaux Bridge high loved to cheer. As a flyer, she was dropped in a stunt and suffered a concussion at practice. When her mother reached out to the school to find out what happened she says she was shocked. “They told us that two weeks prior to practice she had fallen but they knew what to look for, they specialize in recognizing concussions and stuff like that and that she didn’t experience any symptoms,” said Regan’s mother, Terra Boudreaux. Regan went to see the school’s concision specialist and was discharged after 6 weeks and was cleared to cheer. After getting a second opinion from an outside doctor the Boudreaux’s learned that Regan was not okay and had suffered a severe concussion. On Wednesday, Regan’s mom received a phone call from the assistant principal. The school said that they had found Reagan disoriented and bleeding from her nose and her mouth and that they didn’t know what happened to her. “I told him that I needed to know if she had hit her head, or what type of incident she was in because she had a concussion before,” said Terra. The school said they couldn’t give her any details about the incident because there were no cameras were the altercation took place in the cafeteria. The assistant principal told her they would have to go by what witnesses saw. Terra says other students have told her that Regan was defending a friend that has autism. Supposedly a football player shoved her friend and Regan stepped up. “He got shoved, they said that Reagan got in front of him and told the football players to just leave him alone. And that’s when the football player shoved her. And that’s when they’re saying that they don’t know if she had him back but he hit her in the face multiple times,” says Terra. Regan spent three days at women’s and Children’s Hospital. She’s now home recovering and with the help of friends and family putting together the pieces on what happened that day. “She went to homecoming last weekend and she doesn’t remember that,” says Terra. Reagan has experienced severe memory loss. She can’t remember the last three months or what happened that day. The Boudreaux’s have been told that there is an investigation into what happened, but that isn’t enough. “You can’t tell me that it wasn’t intentional what he did. No he didn’t mean to give her a concussion or whatever but he meant to hit her and how many times did he hitter I don’t know,” says Terra. We reached out to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department and the school board, both said there is an investigation but gave no details.

That school screwed up big time and I hope they have real deep pockets so her parents can sue them into oblivion.

Can’t say what the father was thinking but I know what I would be thinking. “Patience, Patience Polynikes. I will be seeing him soon enough”

Where is the Thug’s photograph, and has he even been suspended for this?
These kinds of stories are not helping Football’s popularity.
Sometimes the NFL and other players are there own worst enemies.

Maybe a machine using a voice to writing dictation, ‘wrote’ or assembled that long, unevenly paced story that came before this one.

I have thought of the idea of having Louisiana build the BIG MOSQUITO prison in a swamp that is a wildlife refuge filled with water moccasins, alligators, alligator gars.

Such a prison would be surrounded by the swamp with no way off except by barge and boats (or helicopters).

And maybe daily the guards would feed the alligators something like catfish, chicken or whatever. The prisoners could watch...

Pardon my cynical view....but a girl who got a concussion as a flyer is still doing it? And a guy footballer who no one names in the article is being investgated? No names? The witnesses are giving out no names? No one knows the name of the player but the act was witnessed? The kid would be in jail...or his name would be given out..football being king or not...something doesnt jive here...just sayin’

They know the name of the player. It’s probably Quantavious or something ridiculous like that. With the media, the non description of the perp IS the description of the perp.

Same here... I don’t want to ever be that angry....I would never be the same after.

The guy needs severe punishment!

It is UNACCEPTABLE to beat up on a small girl...doing so seems so foreign to me. :-/

At this point, it is the students are providing the information.

There should be teachers around to supervise.

The school says there were no video cameras there so they have no information? That does not jive.

This might have been some very bad student that students were afraid of. So they didn't speak up because of fear.

At this point, only students have information.

I guess the students have no supervision at that school.

In another High School, a senior had orange hair for the first day of school. His parents were called and he had to wait in a certain area.

When he was somewhere else, the school security guard went to go get him. He repeated hit the school security guard.

An incident the previous year at another school, some black students beat up a white student. No one found out about that until the black students posted a video of the attack on SOCIAL MEDIA.

This is waiting on students to tell the tale.

This school must be a JOKE if there is no adult to tell what he/she saw.

I agree with your comment of the picture. But I also saw the tape on KLFY TV. The picture there was of the girl (young lady) in her cheerleading outfit. Much better picture.

Full size heads on tiny bodies.

Years ago, I was with a group bicycle ride, sponsored by the Baton Rouge Bicycle Club, in St. Martin Parish, LA. There were about 50-60 riders. We were riding through Breaux Bridge single file, staying to the far right of the lane, when we were pulled over by a Breaux Bridge city police officer. We were told that we could not ride on the paved part of the road, only on the shoulder, because it was Sunday morning and people in Breaux Bridge like to get drunk on Sunday morning...so we had to get off of the road to stay out of their way.
