There drilling holes for caissons....there probably one to three foot in diameter....not like falling of a building....still he was dam lucky...

40 feet down a hole Ooh, that would be a great feature of a border wall. People trying to scale the wall, slip into 40 foot holes that shred them and deliver the results on the Mexican side. I'm liking that scenario.

I had read where the “wall” is to go down 30-feet as well to help prevent tunnels. But drilled shafts make sense too. Of course the shafts might be one right next to the other to form a barrier.
