According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Chad Corriveau sexually battered the female child in November and December of 2016.
Authorities were alerted to the incident when a relative of Corriveau's said she was told by the child that he kissed and had sex with her using a sex swing and sex devices.

"FHP trooper Chad Corriveau, 32, is charged with sexually abusing a female teenager between November and January in Groveland,

He also is charged with showing obscene material to a minor."
Additionally, another trooper was place on leave due to failure to report the incident.

I’m actually surprised that the Sheriff’s Dept investigated. We have seriously corrupt sheriffs in Florida - in my town, one of them covered up a homicide committed by his son, and although the sheriff was convicted as an accomplice after the fact, he barely got a slap on the wrist. No jail, no nuttin. Fortunately, the new sheriff seems honest and on the up and up.
A friend had a son in the sheriff’s dept in a neighboring county and he transferred to the local police department because he couldn’t stand the level of misbehavior. I guess there’s a reason that “Southern sheriff” usually has accompanying guffaws.
BTW, I’m a big fan of LE and have family in the biz. However, it’s undeniable that there can be, especially in rural areas, abuse of power (and of trust).
That said, I know nothing about the highway patrol, but I hope this guy was an exception.
Also, I hope I’m not the only one here who didn’t know what a “sex swing” was...

Same kinda thing no age. Sorta like race if it isn’t mentioned then you have an idea of what it is. If the “child” is around 15 - 17 no age is mentioned. If the adult is 18 - 19 they are described as a teenager.

there are some lines when crossed there is no redemption by saying I am sorry when caught because we just cant chance them repeating this behavior with someone else.

Well, considering the lack of empathy that prison inmates have for child predators, especially cops who get convicted of that particular predilection, I don't think he'll live long enough to be there for a long long long time.
Just last night an LAPD cop was arrested for driving drunk. He rear ended a vehicle in CA and killed all 3 occupants. Dad, Mom and their kid. They all burned to death.
