Lost in all this talk about the league losing 10% viewership is the effect on the hot dog vendor and his ability to earn a living because a bunch of overpaid social justice warriors need to make a point about a lie and complete fabrication of statistics by mere innuendo.
So, doing a quick back of napkin calculation of what a loss of $200 million means, in terms of economics of hourly employees to revenue, I concluded 500 people would necessarily need to have their hours drastically reduced or would be laid off.
That is a staggering amount of people who required to be victims in lie of "Black Lives Matter".
That is 500 people who are concessionaires and probably barely make ends meet each month.
How many children will go hungry, eat a less nutritous meal, be forced to walk in worn out shoes?
How many will have to forgo that dental work so they don't look like victims of British dentistry? /S
How many will not be able to afford that doctor appointment?
Morever, and this is the worst of it: "How Long, if ever, will it take them to recover a loss of income they could not forsee and have no influence over the duration?"
Those Brave, Brave Social Justice Warriors aren't being affected by this....AT ALL!!!
They will get their checks every two weeks barring any impairment stipulated in their contract.
What is the effect on an organization that normally draws, on average, over 70,000 paying customers?
Yeah, the 49ers last averaged 70,178 attendees for 2016.
What does a a nearly two thirds drop in attendance portend for the concessionaire?
What of the security personnel?
Parking attendants?
ETc, Etc, Etc,????
Contrast the Thursday night game at Levi Stadiam where only 27,000 people showed up and last they averaged 70,178 attendees?
You are not going to make those averages this year and not affect the little guy.
The stadium only holds about 70,000 seats.
So, keep telling us how spiritual and righteous these football players are but, the little guy can't eat a nothing burger and his landlord isn't going join in this fraud and cut him a break.
I know I had a chance to go to the 9'ers on thursday for $20 bucks and would have blown $100 on food and drinks but, I want escapism when I am being entertained.
If I want to be entertained and participate in social messaging I can go to a U2 Concert and that is part of their appeal.
My Dos Centavos...
Shouldn’t be a problem. leftist NFL owners just adhere to a $15 minimum wage hot dog vendors get, regardless of number of customers, regardless of number of fans, regardless of number of ticket purchasers.
The NFL and its players don’t care about the average American. It’s all about phony virtue signaling. These guys are always welcome to drop their local city council meetings or have rallies that call for an end to inner city violence in attempt to affect real change. They are simply too lazy for that. Instead, it’s grandstanding.
The NFL is playing a game it can’t win.
No team is going out on the field of battle 10, 20, 30 or 40% short of a full squad.
The NFL seems to be just fine with losing 10, 20, 30 or 40% of it’s fans.
We’ll see how they like losing the funding from advertisers, network contracts, and the like.
They aren’t winning.
Corporations to ape s—t, if they don’t see stock grown each quarter.
Now the NFL says it’s okay if they lost 10 to 20% or more of their fans?
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.
And I have some real estate in Florida to sell that’s above water one week per year.
Just stop and think about these self-indulgent losers. If they don’t want to honor our country. . .then adios. Who in their right minds would waste their money on these people who probably didn’t study in school, went to college on the tax payer’s dime and now laughing all the way to the bank. Wake up America! I’m with the President. Too many people have sacrificed their lives for this country.
Not only the parking attendants, but those who own real estate and charge for “park it yourself’ customers. Real estate is expensive and mortgage payments don’t come cheap on prime property. How would these ‘well heeled persons’ fare on such a discourse?
And I fully encourage them to keep it up. ☺
Thought Experiment:
“What about the numerous charities, who will find themselves short on donations from the league, advertisers, etc?”
Hey, what about the loss of tax revenues to the taxpayers who funded your Fantabulous Stadium?
How many hotel employees will lose their jobs? HOmes or cars?
Same here.
Go for it cupcakes.
Little people hit the hardest by Trumps racist boycott! Film at 11.
yeah but, the taxpayer is being screweed because the of the loss of tax revenue...
Less hot dogs means less funding for the roads around the stadium....
Agreed...
Super-bowl is a comin.
Would love to see the stadium half empty.
Which pisses me off.
That stupendous and inconceivable 5th quarter win this year was frickin amazing!!!
I wanted to watch more incredible moments and I have always watched the super bowl.
This year I’ll being cleaning my toilet bowl....
Same here.
Wait until advertisers find out 30% fewer people are tuning in.
NFL, this is going to be a hell of a fourth quarter chumps.
No doubt.
And we’ll find out about it, and they will have massive egg on their faces.
You can’t bus people in to watch on television.
Good luck boys. When the add revenues take a hit, look out cupcakes!
40 years of PC training and inculcaton has distorted these “business” Mens minds away from the bottom line priority that once ruled them. The stones in the street are wise enough to know that a business MUST at all costs avoid polemics. But these asses literally can’t see that NOW, every day, THEY DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE!
I really don’t care. The pro-sports glob is part of the bread and circuses act which effectively lobotomizes the American mob. Strangle the NFL to its death.
Good question. Even the list of NFL sponsors that I wish to boycott makes me wonder how many innocent people will be impacted. Papa John’s Pizza, which has a high percentage of franchise owned stores is on the list of NFL sponsors. My nearby Papa John’s is a franchise. Franchises have no say in national advertising, yet they are in place to be harmed by a boycott.
