Mike Tomlin Steelers Coach Didn’t Want Army Vet To Stand For Anthem

Coach Tomlin says that he respects the decision of his players to not appear for the national anthem. Yet he expresses clear disappointment with the decision Villanueva made to appear. So I guess player decisions are respected only when they fit the PC narrative.

Tomlin chose his words carefully here. But his meaning is clear. It was not okay for Villanueva to stand for the anthem. I'm sharing this video with the Steeler fans I know.

What an a-hole, he makes it sound like President Trump created the issue and pushed “politics” into NFL teams.

WHAT B.S.

It is Colin Kaeperdick & friends who have pushed their left-wing politics onto NFL teams for the past year. Now when there is finally some push-BACK to what has been done, to all the politicized DISRESPECT for flag, anthem, and country..... suddenly people like Tomlin want to pretend that Trump created the issue. No, he STOOD UP to what was being done on NFL fields against flag, anthem, and country, because so few in the NFL had bothered to counter all the left-wing radical politics that has been infused into the NFL pre-games.

Tomlin’S remarks would lead me to believe that this was an official NFL project.

The Steelers shoulda just forfeited their game.

Didn’t they loose anyway? What was the point of the game?

Tomlin also notes that these are “divisive times”. So what? Protest on your own. Your job is to field a football team, period.

Consider my dentist. I suppose he’d agree that these are divisive times as well. But guess what? He continues to examine my teeth as usual. He doesn’t lecture me, or stage mini-protests in his office. He just continues to examine my teeth as usual.

There is a real possibility this could turn into locker room brawls. I can understand the coaches having bit of a hard time facing that problem.

It wouldn’t surprise me if that was what was on this coaches mind. He didn’t want other players getting P.O.d and going after Villanueva. Of course V is 7.9 tall, and weighs 277, so I think he can take care of himself, especially with his military training. Still, nobody wants bad blood in the locker room.

What’s frustrating about this, is that at every turn they seem to lean over backwards to make sure the kneelers don’t get upset. They don’t give a flying “F” about loyalist players.

The inmates are running the asylum.

Coaches, owners, the league,... “Yes fellas, and how high?”

Jumping is the new NFL side sport.

Not good.

Being a vet he recognized what most single focus athletes don’t ...duty, honor, country. How does disrespecting the flag and all of those previous generations of Americans and their sacrifices or dissing the national anthem get them the respect they say they deserve? Respect is earned not mandated.

All it took for a room full of 300 lb thugs to look small and petty in the eye of America is for one real man to stand up from among them.

Trump... I hear you had a recent sports-related visit or two cancel on you. Officially invite THE Pittsburgh Steeler to the White House. Congratulate him on his yuge victory over the Pittsburgh LockerRoomies.

Obama gave out Freedom medals for much, much less.

Whenever I hear one of these self-righteous snowflakes say that this is a "Trump created problem", I like to remind them that Copper-Nickel and a bunch of his air-headed friends started doing this during the 2016 season, when "The Great Unifier Divider" was infesting the People's House.

Steelers coach Tomlin wanted 100% team participation in the anthem protest. He almost got it.”

Yes he almost did, but that is what makes up so much of our American History someone always steps forward and STANDS THE GAP!

Was not Tomlin a huge Obutthole supporter?

Fairly sure he was, made it easier to root against the Stoolers.

The black folk have a tribal think and don’t like it when you don’t join in. A fellow vet from the Vietnam related a story about being in the wrong area of the camp in Thailand and getting beat up by blacks including a professed friend. The black friend apologized later and said he had to do it his bros were there too. Tribal think!

I believe Tomlin was an Obama supporter. But that doesn’t bother me much. Vote for whomever you want. What bothers me is that he has allowed his team (except for one player) to join the anthem protest.

Tomlin whines about these being “divisive times”. Well, he has just made those times even more divisive.

The Chicago Bears stomped the Steelers flat. None of the Bears “took a knee” during the playing of our national Anthem.

Pittsburgh’s team is now coached by a leftist crony, who acts as an ass wipe for BLM’s gang of Soros-funded, Obama-directed thugs.

The only Steeler player who stood as a MAN against these losers - No. 78 tackle, Alejandro Villanueva, a decorated U.S. Army Ranger veteran who did three tours in Afghanistan - was ridiculed by his SOB coach for not sitting in the locker room with his gutless “teammates.” Apparently, the only Pittsburgh player having any “steel” in his spine is Villanueva. The rest of the team are nothing but overpaid, arrogant, narcissistic, limp-wrist spaghetti whackers.

The NFL can kiss my ass. NFL will soon mean “No Fans Left.”
