Who knows what Trump’s real gripe is with the NFL.

In this case, he's ticked off that multimillionaire self-absorbed adolescents feel the need to disrespect this great nation, the fans of their teams, and the very concept of freedom.

Wapo and Sally what's-her-face need to go out amongst the hoi-polloi and purchase a smidgen of a clue.

What the Washington Post and all other liberal rag papers and socialist leaning media outlets who are so giddy about Trumps attack on the NFL and its owners don’t get is this... The vast majority of Americans agree with Trump and a majority of NFL owners also agree with Trump.

The Mara’s don’t agree with Trump... Surprise, surprise and the owners of the Niner’s don’t... But a majority of owners would gladly fire any player taking a knee during the national anthem.

Goodell and those owners who are scared to offend are responsible for the NFL’s being in this predicament. Kaperdick should have been suspended and fined immediately. But the Niners and Goodell thought otherwise. There is a moral code in the NFL and if you don’t follow that moral code you are suspended. Is there anything more immoral than kneeling during the playing of a national anthem that millions have died for?

If the NFL wants to fight Trump on this, they do so at their own peril... I have friends who didn’t even support a Trump Presidency agreeing with Trump. So with all the Trump supporters agreeing with him and even those who didn’t support him agreeing, the NFL is going to come out as a loser by becoming political.

The NFL is not and should not be a political forum, but they allowed a player to make it one and that’s on Roger Goodell, the Niners and the those couple of other owners like the Mara’s and the Rooney’s who obviously thought they would pay some sort of price for suspending a player who kneeled during the national anthem.

Now they are paying an even larger price for not doing so. Falling ratings aren’t just a matter of circumstance and the NFL better figure that out while they still can. Stay out of politics and have your players keep their politics and political views to themselves and their family... There is no need to bring your political views to the work place. Whether that be the NFL, or your local factory.

Have the National Anthem before the teams come out.

President Trump speaks for the “silent majority.” If any one member of the silent majority were to voice their opinion, the MSM and other Liberals would destroy them.

President Trump cannot be intimidated or silenced.

I’m worried about who will replace him in 2024. I fear that Vice-President Pence doesn’t have “the right stuff.”

I disagree. The national anthem at sporting events is about celebrating the unity under freedom's banner of this nation prior to the "combatants" taking the field to win or lose. The issue is that the teams (and by extension, the league) do not care about their customers enough to even feign allegiance to a shared idea - freedom, as espoused by the Constitution.

Consider that this latest SJW stunt of pro players "protesting" on behalf of aggrieved people they have never met, much less been, is simply a ploy to make "normal" people feel guilty for offenses they never committed, then Trump is most surely correct in his statements. These players do not deserve so much as a dime of the fans' money.

You picked the wrong suggestion for your appeasement comment.

You should have gone with no National Anthem played.

But in response to that I would rather no National Anthem played then to be part of a satanic ritual.

I can always play the National Anthem at home with respect and then go to a sorts game and stuff myself with hotdogs and beer.

two, it is important to talk about it without calling each other “sons of bitches.”

Calling ME a racist makes you a son of a bitch. Period.

to protest racial injustice...........if we all just pull out the rug from underneath them for a while the corporate leaders the sponsors and their share holders will come around. Empty stadiums, low ticket sales, low viewer ratings will wake these idiots up

Agreed. I went to a hockey game this week and one of the teams was from Canada. Both anthems played and the players and fans stood for both anthems out of respect. No booing, no kneeling, no remaining seated.

The NFL thinks it transcends "the people". They think they can hold out and eventually the people will come back like sheep and this will all blow over.

NFL, you're fired!

"Have the National Anthem before the teams come out."

Have the jackasses stay in the tunnel until the scary few moments of common decency and respect pass.

Unfortunately, it is a lie that they are choosing to not participate in the common and well-due respect for America.

Nobody would stop them from staying in the tunnel. They are choosing to participate, plus disrupt folks who wish to participate honestly.

Donald Trump’s spit-foaming

This, and "spittle"? Holy cow. What hatred and vitriol.

The NFL is bringing on its own demise. My father was a long-time season ticket holder for the Bears; I remember well walking to Soldier Field, all bundled up in huge coats.

He would be disgusted at this turn of events. I wish I could talk to him about it (he passed about a year ago).

Unfortunately the NFL response to President Trump is not encouraging. To say the least.

Looks like people are going to have to stop enjoying NFL games or learn to suck it up.
