It seems a sad possibility that we won’t be able to do squat about the debt issue till we get other issues straightened out. So why the Kabuki dance about watching the debt, while all else goes wrong?

Let’s get away from a notion of the government as an all-nanny of our welfare. Then we’ll start to see our government’s budgetary needs shrink.

I had been wondering why The President was endorsing one of Mitchie McConnell's "bitches", and I didn't realize until last night that the dem (whoever or WHATever they may be) might have a chance in the General Election. I guess they seriously believe that Strange has a much better chance to win the General Election than Roy Moore.

And I've been wondering why you believe this spin about Strange. I can only surmise there are fake news "bitches" everywhere.

Strange has been one of McConnell’s “butt boys” ever since the criminal governor appointed him, but maybe YOU like Mitchie??

Having grown up in a liberal household, in which most of my family is still on the left, I share your generosity. I live in NYC, where conservatives and libertarians are greatly outnumbered. I feel at times like a missionary to a strange land where common sense is turned on its head.

I have gotten many people on the left to change their views, or at least stop and think, simply by keeping my cool, being patient, taking their concerns seriously, and offering them a broader (conservative) view without being overtly oppositional.

I recommend that all conservatives read Thomas Sowell's The Quest for Cosmic Justice. It's a great book that crystallizes the perspective that Sowell developed over 30 years. The book takes the idea of justice seriously, and even takes the stated ideals of the left seriously. Sowell is empathetic but shows how the "quest for cosmic justice" is ultimately tragic, since it falls far short of its goal, and is a grave threat to human freedom. IMO, it's an excellent example of how to talk with people on the left about political philosophy.

This is Alabama. Whoever the republican candidate is, will win. The Establishment has been playing this game for years, especially in very red states. They make sure one of their own gets the nomination at all costs, because whenever a conservative gets through their gauntlet and wins the nomination and then the general, they cause them endless trouble.

They tried to stop Jim DeMint in SC. They tried to stop Tom Coburn in OK. They tried to stop Mike Lee in UT. They tried to stop Rand Paul in KY. They tried to stop Ted Cruz in TX. They got through the gauntlet.

If Moore wins on Tuesday, he will win the general. But the Establishment will not get behind him, they will work to help the democrat to get elected. But Trump forces will defeat them.

That’s why they’re all in to defeat Moore on Tuesday.

Is there a benevolent intent of the left? Perhaps a few of the left have no idea what the left’s real intent is, but ask the people of Haiti what they think of Hillary and Bill’s benevolent charity, then you will know their real intent.

As christians, we do God’s work, as individuals or collectively under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Members of the left don’t have any idea who God is and they hate Him. They booed God three times in the democrat convention and they spew forth hate every time you mention the Lord’s name. In fact, if they mention the Lord’s name, it’s as a curse.

You write as if there is no other spirit at work here on earth. Without the Holy Spirit within them, the spirit of the world, the spirit of the one who hates God, has free reign over those who hate God. I have noticed you are inclined to be less harsh towards the left and more harsh towards christians, Moore in particular. I would rather encourage a fellow christian like Moore, than try to tear him down.

As for dealing with the left, it’s okay to be as harmless as a dove, as long as you don’t forget about being a shrewd as a serpent.

As for me and my house, we’re voting for Roy Moore.

I don’t understand Trump’s continued feeding of enemies like Strange.
_________________________________________________________

I was wondering the same thing until I realized that timing is everything. Healthcare reform is in the Senate right now. Trump needs McConell to get the legislation to pass and McConnell needs Trump to get Luther Strange into the Senate. I believe a deal was cut “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” That is why I believe EVERYONE who is attached to Trump is endorsing the other candidate. Do you really think all these folks who are on the Trump Train (Gorka, Hannity, Palin, Gohmert, Bannon) would endorse Moore if it was not okay with Trump?

Steve Bannon Will Campaign for Roy Moore on Eve of Alabama Primary
http://www.townhallmail.com/admzmcwyzztnmyzynymdwnvpplnppylwssdcgmtlshmpyy_xvddcpssscb.html?a=&b=

Praised by Ann Coulter and Ben Carson, Judge Moore is the candidate of choice for Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Phil Robertson, Chuck Norris, James Dobson, Franklin Graham, Mike Huckabee, Louie Gohmert, Sarah Palin, Sebastian Gorka, Steve Bannon, Ben Carson, Louie Gohmert and a hundred other good conservatives.

But those corrupt, deal-cutting liberal Republicans have their candidate, too, in Luther Strange, a man so thoroughly under Mitch McConnell’s thumb there’s nothing left to see of his Abe Lincoln-sized frame. They are pulling out all the stops to try to drag their corrupt lobbyist across the line first. Right now their candidate is losing in every poll, thank God above, but the lead has withered to within the margin of error.

Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past six months, you’re aware that Alabama is once again the site of a civil war. This time it is a fight for the soul of the Republican Party, and it is being played out in the run-off primary election between conservative jurist Roy Moore and scandal-plagued Washington lobbyist Luther Strange.

It’s a war between the corrupt old guard of the party controlled by Mitch McConnell and his ilk, and the conservative voters who SHOULD be in control of the party.

The voters who time after time vote for politicians who campaign as conservatives, then govern as gutless liberals, breaking every promise they ever made, offering one excuse after another for why they didn’t do what they said they would, whether that is repeal Obamacare, build the Wall, or defund Planned Parenthood.

In Judge Roy Moore, those conservative voters finally have a candidate who they know won’t compromise his values to save his job, because he has already twice lost his job for refusing to compromise his values.
If you believe in him as well, please make one final donation to this effort as we near the end of this race. https://secure.anedot.com/roymooresolutionfund/ca7213df951ff672795ec

That may be. As good an explanation as I have seen. Someday though, Trump needs to crush them. This is like the beginning of Tombstone, where Earp and associates keep trying to sidestep the Cowboys, who want a confrontation. Sooner or later, you know a showdown is coming.

I am waiting for the same thing. Trump is all about the timing. I think he is waiting until closer to the election to drop a few MOABs on the Democratic party. I sure hope I’m right.
