Spanos paid a franchise move fee of $500 MM. You are telling me he could not build a useful, maybe not full state of the art, stadium for that amount of money in the SD area???

The stadium in Minnesota topped $1B. My guess is the one in Atlanta did too. I would further guess that construction costs in CA are higher than either of those.

Of course, if he was willing to put up that amount toward a stadium, he probably could have made a pretty good deal.

I don’t want the NFL back. For over a decade, Dean Spanos has been bad-mouthing San Diego, and threatening to move to Los Angeles.

Well, now he moved his team to LA and in my opinion he should stay there.
