I think it is ironic that the two bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were code named Little Boy and Fat Man..................

The 1980’s called, they want their foreign policy back.

South Korea is more than capable of defending itself.

I would not trade one fingernail of a US soldier for the life of the entire Korean peninsula.

It’s NOT OUR PROBLEM. If you think it is, arm yourself and head to the DMZ, tough guy.

Nuking any US territory ...

Kim won't do that. Until NK actually nukes someone the US will NOT nuke NK.

You do realize that his missiles can now strike most of the COTUS? But I suppose South Korea can “defend” us too.

But the historical allusions are then too hidden for most.

The wife and I will be leaving Kentucky for Saigon on the 28th of next month for two weeks. She is from Cai Be and we will be staying with her sister in Q8. Many, many relatives so it will be two weeks of visiting.

Looking forward to going back. First time I was there in ‘68, it wasn’t so pleasant.

NK has claimed it will be an AIR BURST. That will cause an EMP. Such an EMP could down civilian airliners and affect Japan as well as other countries.

Been there, done that-- 18 months in the 2d Infantry Division, 1/72d Armor Bn (DMZ since you probably don't have a clue), and I would go back now as a grunt if I could. I may yet go back if there is a war, but due to my current duties, it would be as a civilian adviser. You seem to have missed my point-- this isn't about South Korea, it is about America. For our national security, we must be able to project force to where we need to, when we need to, and to deter our enemies in a credible manner. If we let the Chinese/ Russians tag team with the DPRK to topple South Korea, then it will be Taiwan, then the Philippines, ... we will quickly find ourselves within the reach of many of our enemies with no means to project power or defend ourselves.

In nearby Albuquerque the have a nuclear weapon museum. I can tell you that Fat Man was really fat. I have a replica of Little Boy on my key chain.

It’s time to put a 50 million US$ reward out for the assassination of KJU . Attach the offer to 10’s of 1000’s of helium balloons and release them when the wind is right , in south Korea . 50 mil is peanuts compared to what outright war with the entire of NK would cost . Surely some enterprising NK ‘security official ‘ would find the idea very attractive .

TPT: Your concern for US soldiers’ fingernails does not exactly comport with your strategy (if it can be called that) of leaving them in an impossible position to defend the US without tremendous civilian casualties here.

Also... It isn’t about the 1980’s at all. It IS about the next 50 or so years, and especially about avoiding an eventual nuclear catastrophe involving us.

You were done when ya typed this out. It's convoluted gibberish no matter how ya chop it up. Learning how to communicate is a skill you should consider acquiring.

If America is wiped off the map the world suffers and all the Russians and Chinese know it. Trumps approval rating would plummet, he’d probably be impeached, people would be pissed, America would be on the receiving end of tough rhetoric for a few years and maybe some sanctions but ultimately the world would move on.
