James Clapper Claims FISA Wiretap Of Paul Manafort Conducted Without His Knowledge

Earlier this week CNN reported what radio talk show host (and former Justice Department official) Mark Levin revealed in March, that secret FISA court orders had been implemented during the Obama Administration to wire tap Paul Manafort. Mediaite then pointed out that the former Director of National Intelligence under President Obama, James Clapper, had unequivocally denied the existence of any such FISA wiretap during an interview on Meet the Press:

James Clapper was the Director of National Intelligence overseeing the surveillance and intelligence gathering of seventeen different government agencies. He has correctly asserted that if there was a FISA order to wiretap an American citizen he would know about it. CNN has now confirmed that the FBI had just such an order to monitor Paul Manafort. This leaves us with only a handful of conclusions.

CNN’s reporting is completely wrong resulting it possibly one of the most high-profile journalistic blunders of our time

The FBI under James Comey’s direction and under President Obama’s control conducted covert, renegade surveillance of American citizens without the appropriate oversight or constitutional checks and balances at such a high level that even the Director of National Intelligence was kept in the dark.

Either way, we either have a very sick man in James Clapper, or we have a scandal brewing that could shatter the media’s love affair with the Obama presidency. If they’d only have half an interest in pursuing it.

Yes, like all political elites they claim to know everything that’s going on around them, but the moment something goes wrong, they know nothing. They claim ignorance, say they were never informed, or blame it on someone else.

The unmasking and “wire tapping” was just an extension of the illegal monitoring they were doing against perceived political threats by journalists Sharyl Attkisson and James Rosen.

We have yet to see the full extent of illegal spying by the Obama administration. Its likely that what we know at this point is only the tip of the iceberg.

Trump made a huge mistake when he did not arrest Brennan, Clinton, Clapper, Comey and Lynch the first days of his administration and hired Sessions rather than a bulldog as AG.

I guess I'm an optimist. I've defended Jeff Sessions here a number of times. I was fairly certain that he was working behind the scenes and we'd soon see indictments, investigations, etc.

Optimist? No, idiot is more like it. Sessions is the biggest disappointment I can imagine. Having him as AG is worse than having the office vacant. He needs to be fired and replaced asap.

And what the hell is Christopher Wray doing? Is there no one in federal law enforcement who's interested in enforcing the law???

Paul Manafort made millions of dollars working for political campaigns for decades. He was the personification of "the Swamp."

He also worked for political candidates in foreign countries over the years, so he was part of their swamps in addition to ours.

I don't wish him any harm, but I really don't lose any sleep over this, either.

The REASON Clapper lied about this, again, is that he is trying to prevent momentum building in the psyche of the American people that the Obama cabal undertook felonious political spying.
