The party is still hurting from its shocking loss last year to President Trump, and its leaders concede they have a serious problem. When it comes to messaging and explaining what they stand for, Democrats are lost, Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said this summer in an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.
"I think if we come up with this strong, bold economic package, it will – it will change things around. That's what we were missing. People don't like Trump; he's at 40 percent. But they say what the heck do the Democrats stand for?" the senator said.
He's onto something.
For the past eight years, Democratic influence has seen a nationwide decline. Voters have turned away from them.
When President Barack Obama came to office in 2009, his party controlled 59 percent of state legislative bodies. Democrats now control only 31 percent. Eight years ago, there were 29 Democratic governors. Now there are only 16.

I can not get past the whole event. She is walked out of the event early with her physician at her side. Her early departure was so unplanned her Scobbie van was not ready and she had to be parked. Her physician is still checking her out waiting for her transportation. And when her ride comes, watch her hands, They remain behind her back. She acts like a person being moved while handcuffed behind her back.
There is no dignity present in that video.
Why haven’t any other witnesses in that video clip been interviewed by now?
By the time the campaign knew the genie had escaped the bottle, they tried running the body double out onto the sidewalk outside of Chelsea's apartment.
Immediate analysis showed that the new healthy Hillary could not have been the same Hillary seen just a few short hours before. She must have been in bad shape since they phoneyed up that campaign stop that later analysis showed was probably a video trick.

Most in attendance at the Toss the Beef into the Scoobie van party were members of the protection detail. Their culture of confidentiality might mean we will never learn from them what happened. But watch their actions - There was no surprise, No sense of an emergency. Just throw the hunk of beef into the street and get this show down the road. It all seemed so routine and expected. That is what ordinary folks saw, that the detail had no sense of respect or dignity toward her. It was just a disgusting job they were given to do.
When I saw the video, I knew the end was nigh for the clintons.
Does Hillary mention this episode (”Toss the Beef”) in her book? Does she list it as one of the many reasons she lost? I would assume not, since I haven’t heard any mention of it.
