Sam Houston told his fellow Texans that they were making a huge mistake in siding with the south. He himself was a Union supporter. He predicted that the north would squash the south. For that he was roundly defeated in the next governor election.

The ignorance of these groups is astounding. Maybe they ought to check wikipedia before they get out of bed in the morning.
