'rocket man' Published September 17, 2017 Fox News

NOW PLAYING Kim Jong Un says NKorea nearing equilibrium with US military Close President Trump apparently has a new name for North Korean strongman Kim Jong Un as the rogue leader pursues a nuclear-missile program -- “rocket man.”

“I spoke with President Moon of South Korea last night,” Trump tweeted early Sunday morning. “Asked him how Rocket Man is doing. Long gas lines forming in North Korea. Too bad!”

Kim has apparently conducted six nuclear bomb tests and numerous inter-continental missile launches in his attempt to affix a nuclear warhead on a rocket that could reach foreign soil.

Yes, this is hilarious. The mainstream media has no sense of humor.

“The mainstream media has no sense of humor.”

That’s only because Donald J. Trump repeated it. Read my above post.

“pathetic and juvenile”

Amazing when others print or say it, but let President Trump repeat it, and it’s “pathetic and juvenile?”

“Contrast a fourth-world nation that can’t keep the lights on at night, with the label of being a massive threat to the free world.”

**************

Cuba was also a fourth-world nation in 1962. Recall that it suddenly became a massive threat that nearly plunged us into WW III. Just as Cuba was, North Korea is a client state. And therein lies the big problem: we are actually dealing with China, albeit indirectly for the moment.

I’m not sure the subversive approach can remove Kim and his military cabal. He is a puppet of China. Maybe a bit of a problem child for them, but they’re content to let him be the vanguard for their hegemonic designs in the region. He serves a useful purpose for them.

Another complicating factor is the density of population in nearby Seoul. About 25 million people live in the city and its suburbs. That is a massive problem for any war planner. And soon Kim will have the capability to launch multiple ICBMs simultaneously. He also understands the principles of EMP and what it could do to a target country.

War should always be a last resort but I believe we are rapidly approaching that point. If we don’t do something soon, the problem will only grow increasingly difficult and costly to deal with.

do you really think they don’t know what they’re doing....that every step is being carefully constructed as they position ‘every detail’ in this threat?.....there isn’t a moment they’re not ‘speaking’ to Fat Boy

*************

I never suggested that they don’t know what they’re doing.

What you are missing is that China is Fat Boy’s enabler. We have to convincingly persuade and deter them from letting Kim intimidate his neighbors and threaten us. He is a menace, for sure, but this is a dual track problem of the highest order with potentially severe economic and military consequences.

To coin a term from the book about our military operation that killed Osama Bin Laden, it will be No Easy Day for Trump and Mattis.

In addition to psychological it is physical strategy. Each launch is one less rocket that can cause harm. It lowers arsenal and increases need for funds if replacing. The more he can be goaded into test fires, the lesser threat if we have to attack.

The problem is Kim is a terrorist and will kill. Trump won’t. I expect we will see a South Korean ship at the bottom of the sea soon. Then what will Trump do?

No doubt, there is a large population of wannabe conservatives ( like "morphing liberaltarian" who are heavily influenced by the media brainwashing.

they are very impressionable and have a tendency to adopt "bandwagon bias". The type who jumped on the bandwagon to pile on Sarah Palin and cant resist piling on Trump either. But they think they are thinking clearly, when in reality they are brainwashed parrots

The costs to the economy are small in comparison to the cost in lives and economy if we resumed military action in North Korea. Long term, shutting down commerce with China will be a win-win—bankrupt them, probably cause regime change; and for us, we bring back lots of industry to the US.

“Is there going to be a war soon?”

In the grocery store late this PM all the bottled water was gone, but there were plenty of green bananas.

It's well known China enables Fat Boy......and it sure as heck is well known to Trump and this administration as they have time and again spoken ‘clearly’ regarding China's influence over N. Korea and all it's leadership.... So they certainly know what they are doing with China's involvement as well as the risks.

But unlike Fat Boy China rarely reveals their intentions, keeping everything they do or not very close to their chests. Their nature has been and continues to be deceptive at best.....Trump is well acquainted with how China operates...publicly they will always play neutral referees /good boys in any conflicts they are involved with...... privately is another story all together. ...Saving face is off the scales important to them......N.Korea will always be their proxy leverage but only to a point. Today is not the same climate as in Fat Boys fathers day......."They are learning"......

Saving face is off the scales important to them

************

Interesting you should say that. I once had a colleague who was from Taiwan who said the same thing. I didn’t really appreciate how important this cultural trait was to them until hearing it from someone who lived there. Saving face is close to an obsession with them.

......”Hearing it from someone who lived there. Saving face is close to an obsession with them.”.......

All Asian communities/citizens are obsessed with ‘appearances’...hand in glove with wealth.

I saw An Asian guy put on a huge musical engagement ordeal....she walked away saying No!.....because the diamond he gave her wasn't large enough. Asian women size each other up based on their skin, dress, hair, and the wealth of thier husbands or families...and they are highly competitive among each other. When it comes to the Asian have and have nots... for Asians it's a matter of respect, station in life, and advancement on where you sit in the culture train.
