Fair enough. I simply meant to say that, in the context of this particular thread, the substance of Shapiro’s message (whatever that may be) is beside the point. I should have been more careful to not imply that you aren’t a supporter of free speech.
Regarding your points about the limitations of free-speech rights:
* UC Berkeley is a public, taxpayer-sponsored, institution. It is, in effect, a government agency. The only “private hands” involved there were attached to violent rioters.
* When governments (City of Berkeley, the UCB, etc.) fail to protect one side of a political debate from mob violence — those governments are tacitly supporting mob rule. This time, they finally did their duty.

He exposed himself on a daily basis for 2 years on his radio show. RINO Globalist, weak on immigration, etc.
His career has been on life support since he sided with Michelle Fields so a little fabricated “Consverative” speaker in Berkeley” controversy might remedy that.
I’m not sure why you are arguing this. My original response had nothing to do with free speech but a warning about Shapiro and his CINO ways.
I’ve run in to so many people that do not understand what free speech really means in America, just merely pointing out the difference. I wasn’t applying it here, nor care if it applies here, because my original post had nothing to do with free speech.
