The best thing to do when someone spouts of something as if it comes somehow from scripture is to quote some actual scripture…. Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” Romans 11: 30 “For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?” I think the Judge also should read Luke 13: 4 and have a thorough understanding of what that passage means….

I am a believer and was searching the date you mentioned when I came across a website that researches a question that I have had for most of my life. What was the star that announced the birth of the Messiah? (Greek=Christ)

Enjoy! (read the comments, too)

I don’t have a problem with confederate monuments but I wouldn’t want a state employee to bring a several thousand pound confederate monument into to a state building right now without at least asking anyone. It’s not their building.

I am a Christian. I am involved with my church and donate to other Christian causes. I know others within my church and other good Christian conservative churches in Alabama that aren’t impressed with Roy Moore.

If someone stands up and waves the Bible, that doesn’t necessarily mean I will vote for them. Mo Brooks is a Christian too and he’s a conservative. He’s actually got a record to support that.

Poor Mo Brooks, my congressman, fell into the wrong crowd. He was hoodwinked by party people into vehemently attacking Trump when silence would have served him better. It cost him and they used him up.

I hope he’s wiser now.

I was going to vote for Roy but now you’ve made me change my mind.

First you posted you would vote for Moore, then you posted you wouldn’t vote for either of them. Now you say you won’t vote for Moore. You have the same single vote everyone else has. Praise God that He determines the outcome.

Praise God that He determines the outcome.

And what does that mean? If God chooses the outcome of every election, there would be nothing but good in this world. Jesus is not of this world. He made this very clear.

God will certainly determine the final outcome but, in this world, he’s giving us this opportunity to decide.

Not necessarily. God always determined who would rule Israel but they were not always “good” rulers. Even Israel’s first king had serious problems.

I know that it may look like a chaotic world with no one at the wheel. I suppose that is why many atheists refuse to believe there is a God. But you know that God is not dead and His word is true.

Romans 8:28 is true.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Proverbs 16:9 is true as well:
The mind of man plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

He does give us free will to place our faith in Him and follow Him or to mess up our lives, but God is in control. Praise God!

May you find the wisdom He’s blessed all in Christ with to do what is right.

I don’t see anything wrong with him stating his belief.

So, the Old Testament God certainly would have destroyed us for any number of sins.

By the New Testament, God was taking a very hands off approach. Here’s my Son, accept him, follow his teachings, and we are cool.

After a few thousand years, do we think God is reverting to his old habits?
